That’s how DJ Hyposonic (Kamogelo Dominic Tlape) describes himself as a DJ. With a vast arsenal of music knowledge, his high-spirited musical selections are his own therapy. Having grown up on his mother’s Afrocentric combination of Afro-pop, Jazz and high energy Kwaito music… all which became infused with his own love for afro-house, soulistic-house, neo-soul and Hip-Hop, DJ Hyposonic ended up with quite a mixed spectrum of musical influence. Today, this translates into sets where he picks apart and infuses together all the pieces of this music that he loves best: beautiful vocals, ethereal backdrops, heavy basslines, and occasional melodic keys… all on top of a pronounced foot-shuffling house beat.

A very active member of his local community, DJ Hyposonic is no stranger to the ups-and-downs of a small-town music scene. Though having the opportunity of playing in nightclubs, patios and special events, his love for music goes beyond the spectrum of mixing tunes
