Danny Cheung

A product of the early 90's Florida underground house music scene, Danny got his first taste of house music from attending some of the legendary nights at clubs such as Aahz @ The Beacham Theatre, The Club @ Firestones, and Simons in Gainesville. After picking up decks in early 94, Danny built a very passionate hobby of collecting and djing music for the pure enjoyment of the music and entertaining friends. Taking his passion a step further, he decided to pursue a career in the music industry. After graduating from Full Sail University in 2000, Danny moved to Los Angeles, CA to start his Audio Engineering career. Working tireless hours in small, privately owned recording studios like Solid Sounds and Majestic Studios, he built up his clientele as a highly efficient and fast tracking engineer. During his time at Majestic, he became the primary engineer for Noontime/Innersound Music. This relationship led him to record/mix hit records with many artists including Letoya Luckett, Dave Young, Tank, and Mary J Blige. In 2006 Danny became Grammy nominated for Record Of The Year for his work on Mary’s hit song “Be Without You.” Later that year he started the live sound portion of his career as Mary’s ProTools Playback Engineer. This included touring on both The Breakthrough and Mary J. Blige /Jay Z’s Heart Of The City tours. In 2009 he landed the position with Shady Touring becoming Eminem’s playback engineer, working some of the biggest festival shows around the world. This is when he linked up with Musical Director Adam Blackstone and under his creative genius and leadership, Danny was able to take his skills to the next level. Since then the BBE team has put together some of the most historic performances including Dr. Dre and Snoop Dog’s Coachella performance with the Tupac Hologram, 3x Super Bowl Halftime Performances (Justin Timberlake [2018] Shakira & J Lo [2020] and Dr. Dre, Snoop Dog, Mary J. Blige, & Eminem’s Epic [2022] LA Half Time Performance). Having just finished recording/mixing music performances for the 94th Academy Awards and 64th Annual Grammy Awards, things aren’t slowing down.
Although supporting others in their vision has been rewarding, Danny has never forgotten his dance music roots. This year finds him once again inspired to share his love of the ever evolving electronic sound.
