D.MENTASM — The Archive

The Archive is more than a collection of DJ sets. It is a journey through years of music, memories, experimentation and moments that can never be recreated exactly as they happened.

These recordings are the surviving pieces of a much larger musical history. Over the years, many of my original DJ sets have disappeared as websites, radio archives and hosting platforms have closed or removed older material.

Rather than risk losing what remains forever, I began recovering, restoring and preserving every surviving recording I could find.

Where the original playlists, dates and information still survive, they will be preserved alongside the recordings, keeping as much of the history and context of each set together as possible.

These recordings come from different times, different places and different chapters of my life as a DJ. Some were carefully prepared, others were completely freestyle. Some were played for radio, some for clubs and warehouses, and some simply followed wherever the music decided to take me.

Through all of those years, the purpose has remained the same.

Music can motivate us. It can help us relax. It can give us release, comfort and escape. Sometimes we don't need music to provide an answer — we just need somewhere else to be for a little while.

So think of The Archive as this:

“Here are some places you can go for a while.”

Every mix opens a different door. Every set carries its own atmosphere, energy and story. You don't need to know where it's going — just step inside, listen, and let the music take you there.

The Archive will continue to grow as more surviving recordings are recovered and preserved, allowing these journeys from yesterday to be heard, downloaded and enjoyed today — and hopefully long into the future.
