Punk: Metal

Metal is rock music that employs down-tuned guitars and overall loudness. The style was first developed in the UK and later in the US during the '60s and early '70s, respectively. Initially incorporating blues elements, metal eventually turned toward more aggressive punk tendencies (i.e., heavy metal) and is now known for extreme distortion, intense beats, and extended guitar solos.
