## Modern Lo-Fi DX/TX-style FM(PM) synthesis
I'm currently developing this polyphonic, native-code compiled SW modular ("Cycle") and already made a number of and (hi-fi) FM and PM synths / patches but what was still missing was that 80ies style Yamaha DX/TX FM (well, PM).

So what makes these old Yamaha synths so special ?
One thing is that back then they could not afford multiplication, so they replaced it with table lookups ("lut"s).
(for the mathematically inclined: `x * y = exp(log(x) + log(y))`)

These tables were rather small (everything was expensive back then :-)), which results in a rather lo-fi, yet characterful sound.

So, here's a little "lunch break" jam with some lo-fi FM patches / synths I wrote last night.

What you are hearing is 2op and 3op FM (all 5 sounds, i.e. including drums).

I am using a FaderPort 16 controller to change 14 FM parameters + the delay feedback amount, and a Linnstrument 200 for "launching clips" (sequencer+MIDI processor: "Synergy MIDI tracker").
