He's the mastermind behind Australia's much loved longest running old skool 90s vinyl only rave event Candee Flip, which continues to gather momentum motoring into its 20th year. Dubbed 'the Icon of the Brisbane Dance Scene' by Foxtel's Club V at the turn of the millennium, DJ Barking Boy has been mixing it up around the East Coast of Australia since his stellar debut at Adrenalin Welcome to the Future back in 1993.
He was labelled 'King of the Closing Set' after his 1995-99 tenure at Brisbane's most iconic underground dance club of the 90s, The Tube, where he regularly supported tours such as Cream, Ministry of Sound, Gatecrasher and Renaissance, playing alongside the finest DJs on the planet . He's taken his talents abroad playing in countries like Canada, Estonia and USA and can also be found playing fresh driving techno nowadays under the guise of Troq:v as well as fresh upfront house whilst he also co-runs the popular old skool ‘Beachball’ events on the Gold Coast, Australia.
With his crisp up-tempo mixes, swift cutting, infectious energy, spontaneity and a seemingly never ending crate of old skool vinyl underground club and rave classics, we just know that DJ Barking Boy (aka Troy Linthorne) will be bringing the party.
