[cnss018-6] Sanasol / Thor - Icelandic Lost Tracks 2

by Connaisseur Recordings

Part 1 of our Icelandic Lost Tracks series already created a big buzz, with Yellow Sky Over Reykjavík developing into what we had hopes for: A track for magic and special moments on the dancefloor and at afterparties. For example, Sven Väth played it as the last record at Cocoon / Amnesia.
Now, we continue with part 2 with two no less impressing pieces of music by Thor and his project Sanasol (together with Aðalsteinn Guðmundsson), both from the end of the 90ies, one completely unreleased and the other rediscovered and remastered making it gleam in new splendor.

With Mjúk Brjóst, the a-side features a subtle, disco-influenced, dubby, deep house tune. With its massive bassline and its catching atmosphere, this tune develops into one big hypnosis. Mjúk Brjóst was previously released on the Cozy EP on Thor’s 66 Degrees imprint in the year 1999, hidden as the b2 track.

On the flip-side, Flush is a completely unreleased, repetitive 10min+ trip from 1998 through the Dub-Techno side of Thor’s mind. It’s the kind of track you hear on the dancefloor, and that you just don’t want to end. Already on heavy rotation with the Ar:pi:ar crew like Raresh and Rhadoo, as well as Ricardo Villalobos.

We are proud to have the opportunity to release such outstanding tracks. Part 3 will be released in the first quarter of 2011.
