Andy Innes

Progressive House & Trance   ))   Inverness, Highlands of Scotland, United Kingdom

Andy Innes from Inverness began playing mid/late 90's on vinyl with a love of mainly upbeat progressive house & trance, mostly playing private house parties and producing mixtapes for friends. His passion for this style of music solidified after a couple of holiday trips to Ibiza with friends in '96 & '97 during the 'classic years' hearing how the music came to life on large sound systems. Experiencing the likes of ‘Manumission’ at Privilege, Es Paradis, and being in the crowd at ‘Cream’ in Amnesia when it was being broadcast live on Radio 1’s Essential Mix were real highlights.

After a break with family commitments he returned to playing a few years back, this time with CDJ's and a passion for deeper progressive house & trance, but also incorporating elements of minimal tech house, tech house, deep house and lighter melodic side of techno. He went on to play numerous events locally in the Highlands of Scotland with HLS Sound System, the ‘Shenanigan’ festival in 2018, and has warmed up for personal favourites Quivver & Ian Dillon for ‘Northern Progression’ in the Shack in Aberdeen in 2018. He has had several guest mixes on Saturo Sounds radio during 2019 and regularly makes appearances on Mixcloud’s progressive house & trance charts.

In 2019 local fellow Trance DJ’s & friends, Kev Thompson, James Thomson & Conor Ferguson formed ‘Lets Trance’, and with a reignited passion for playing more uplifting Trance again, Andy joined them as a resident and has played every event so far since. He and fellow Lets Trance residents welcomed long time trance favourite Lost Witness as a special headline guest on Boxing Day and supported legendary former Radio 1 DJ Dave Pearce playing in the Vault in Aviemore in March just before the current lockdown went in place.
