History Of House: The 95 North Edition - Part 2

Hello again, everyone! Welcome to the second of a three-part series where I dig through the vaults of DJs and house music producers 95 North and put them in the mix. It really is that simple. Many thanks to everyone who listened to the first mix, and special thanks to Richard Payton who promoted it on 95 North’s official Facebook page, his own personal one and on Soundcloud. I’ve been overwhelmed by the reaction, and thanks to everyone who listened and got in touch.

Part 2 below contains 25 tracks, with the full tracklist is on my blog. (link below) The divide between tracks and remixes is about 50/50 in this one, with music produced between 1992 and 2012 featured. This mix contains a few hard-to-find gems, including “Change The Beat”, a white label remix of a Stevie Wonder track, a disco house version of “Alright” by Mijan Owens, and some of their early records, many of which proved so illusive that I had to get them from 95 North directly!

Like the first mix, this one is recorded live in one take - in this case, on a wet and windy Friday afternoon - and much like the first one, it contains the occasional, shall we say, imperfection. The records featured have been sourced from a combination of Traxsource, vinyl records from years gone by, CDs, Richard Payton from 95 North and a USB by Harry, an old friend of mine who I've lost touch with, but who left me a USB pen crammed with great music.
