DF TRAM - ILLEGAL LINGO - ALBUM CLIPS

by Afterlife

"For the past 20 years I have been dj’ing and creating music. In those 20 years, I have collaborated with many different artists, played in various bands, and released a lot of music. I have thoroughly enjoyed those experiences, and I learned a lot from them. But there were still many stories that I held close to my heart, that I had not yet told. I decided it was time to release my own album.
Enter Steve Miller. I have been a big fan of Afterlife (aka Steve Miller) for many years. So when I contacted Steve to see if I could remix one of his tracks, I was happily surprised when he said “instead of a remix, why don’t I help you produce an album?”. I didn’t have to think about it, it would be a perfect fit. We were off to the ambient psychedelic races. I began to pull out all those tracks and ideas I had accumulated over the years. The fragmented words written on scraps of paper, dusty records, and old samples I had been saving for this very moment. It’s my preferred method of creation, the cut and paste collage approach. So the music came a long very organically, and Steve Miller speaks my language.
I have been very lucky to have met many great friends over the years, and some of them are featured on this album. My friend Coppe’ Sweetrice came and sang on a few tracks, and did what only Coppe’ can do. I also asked my friend Jonah Sharp(aka spacetime continuum) if he could add some keyboards on “The Mystery” , he agreed, and the result took the track to another place.
There are a lot of themes running throughout , love , death, hope, breakups, comedy, and psychedelia. So creating the album
was a trip in and of itself. I think those who listen, will hear an album bathed in smoke, soaked in red wine, then sprinkled with psychedelics. All ready to be cooked in your heady oven...

Cause all it is is a mystery baby….."
