30 years of "mostly acid" in a new mix from Chicago's Ryan Gilhooley aka rhythmrobot ...

rhythmrobot is the alias of Chicago producer Ryan Gilhooley, specializing in the styles of Acid, Techno and Deep House. Making tracks since the early 2000s under the name "Hardware," Ryan took a break between 2009-2015 to focus on his marketing career. For therapeutic reasons, he started producing tracks again in 2015 as rhythmrobot. In 2016, Ante Recordings put out his first label release, "Drum Hop," followed by Owen Ni aka Pan!k, who put out his second EP, "Chapdr3" on Run on Recordings. Since then, Owen and Ryan have teamed up on a number of projects. Together, they have released music on Ante Recordings, Snail Juice Records, Bang Le Dex, Run on Trax and AcidWorx.

The highlight of rhythmrobot's music career came when Posthuman played his track "Urges" at I Love Acid in October 2020. In early 2021, rhythmrobot collaborated with Owen Ni on the "Crate Diggin'/Rung" EP. "Rung" was picked up by multiple Spotify editorial playlists which allowed their music to be heard in 138 different countries that year. To date, rhythmrobot's music has been remixed by dyLAB, Owen Ni/Pan!k, Raytek, Master Master, Yokushe, JAK, Distortion Inc., Pat Foosheen and Mark Ryal.
