Some unreleased bootlegs are too freaking good to be played by friends exclusively or get dusty on a hard drive – so Yarn Audio proudly presents the free EP «Bootlegs I». We are happy to have gotten our hands on remixes from three very special producers and are sure to astonish you with these refreshing reworks of great tracks – from funky smashers to melancholic bass mutants.

Tobs is spinning records since 2008. He co-founded the vinyl-only label Drowned Records, where the versatile producer from Bremen and his friends release bass and techno gems and where he just put out his first solo EP. As a DJ in demand and organiser of many nights Tobs knows exactly how to refurbish the Joy O classic «Hyph Mngo» from a former UK garage and dubstep hybrid into an UK hardcore influenced techno & bass tool and push it into party territory.

Have you ever had moments where you close your eyes and reminisce the past? You start remembering things you thought were long forgotten. The silky 90ies-vibe that flows from Axefield’s bootleg on the all-too-famous Erykah B. is splendid. The listener is taken on a journey, starting underwater, and slowly surfacing to the top of the reef with wonderfully constructed hi-hats. Just when you thought the fun was over, a vital question comes to mind: Who’s Susan? That, dear listener, is up to you to decide.

You may have heard electronic musician 2kn DJing at the infamous Schiessbude raves in Berlin already. The experimental music lover is producing since his early teenage years and works for Yarn Audio and the alternative radio station FluxFM. Breaking genres open – this worn out promo phrase actually adds up when describing his franatic tunes. The Berlin-based producer transforms Nina Kraviz’ tech-house-banger «Ghetto Kraviz» into a broken beat skeleton full of suspense and melancholic sprinkles, while Machinedrum’s and Azealia B.’s collab «Barbie Shit» gets a tricky footwork treatment.
