Starts quite lovely and "slow", then into a touch of progressive house, then into melodic house before almost peaking at some Techno, with some tempo change in there just to raise the energy levels a bit. Hmmmmmm....

Just bought some new studio monitors, and needed something to play through them. So hooked up my music laptop through the DB4, and went hunting for something to play. And came across this little mix.

So here it is. Baring in mind this is my first mix on these new decks, there are a few dodgy mixes in there. But overall, I think the mix is ok. As usual, I just put the mixes up, warts and all, looking for constructive feedback.

So, the kit used here is my Allen & Heath DB4 and a pair of Denon SC2900's. No effects, no sync, just tracks on a USB drive, played straight up. There was an issue during recording weere the left deck wouldn't play the left channel sound for some reason, so I just duplicated the right channel. It was a while between the last two cloudcasts as I was at work. But here we are, 2 within 2 days.

My last few mixes were vinyl only affairs, and while I loved them, I had gotten my hands on a few newer tunes I wanted to play. So I went through my June folder, and picked some tracks at random, as always.

Some nice progression here though, so starts sort of Techy, and progresses into proper Techno. Lovely.

This is where my head currently sits. Love these sounds. Getting a lot more techno inspired in my old age I think.

My last few mixes were vinyl only affairs, and while I loved them, I had gotten my hands on a few newer tunes I wanted to play. So I went through my June folder, and picked some tracks at random, as always.

James was born premature at 26 weeks, he was in the Neonatal unit for two and a half months. Since being out of hospital James has been diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy.
James is 16 months old now and struggles with his feeding and sometimes has to have a nasal gastric tube in, James has stiffness in his arms and he can't sit up unaided and has to have a specialist chair to sit in plus other specialist equipment, to help with his posture

Not so easy firing through different genres at such a pace, as I'm sure you will notice :( but hey ho, thats the way it is. As always, my mixes are raw, and I don't hide my mistakes. How am I meant to get better otherwise?

Still, happy with how it went, and the flow of the mix. Hope you enjoy it. This one is more of a journey than my other ones, simply due to the genre changes. And this mix isn't concentrating on my newest tunes either.

Not so easy firing through different genres at such a pace, as I'm sure you will notice :( but hey ho, thats the way it is. As always, my mixes are raw, and I don't hide my mistakes. How am I meant to get better otherwise?

Still, happy with how it went, and the flow of the mix. Hope you enjoy it. This one is more of a journey than my other ones, simply due to the genre changes. And this mix isn't concentrating on my newest tunes either.

Actual mixing isn't as tight as usual, basically first time I have really done a full vinyl mix in about 8 years. But except for the last mix, is pretty listen-able.

This time on a Breaks sort of theme.

Was just looking around Beatport, and realised it had been some while since I had last put together a breaks set. So a wee scan later, and I had a tracklist (Actually its basically another DJ's chart, its been a while since I dipped my toe into the breaks scene, and I pretty much loved most of the tracks he selected).

Very much enjoyed this mix, as always really.
