Welcome To Hickton Falls. I started Hickton Falls as a place to live where I could do anything - the name could be a Metal band, Hip-Hop, Electronic - whatever. I just wanted the room to experiment with anything I was writing. An imagined town or village So I look at it as a place where anything can happen, there is no command to genre. (Except usually quite a few delays going on).
Hope you enjoy some of it, If so, you can find me here... https://soundcloud.com/slapsticknzuk

For the first part of the show I played a selection of roots and dub reggae for your listening pleasure.
Which was followed by composer, producer and DJ Pete Ardron who put together an hour of his productions featuring singers such as Psibindi and Kwali Kumara as well as his bands Glow and Orchid-Star. Prepare to dive into a melting pot of orchestral strings and heavenly chorals infused with the exotic sounds of Africa, Asia and the Caribbean along with touches of psychedelica, funk and ska.
Then to see the show out I played some organic house.
Ian has played at festivals for a number of years in his native UK and as far flung as Australia. He hosts the show 'Chilled Psy'ence' on DI Psychill, co-hosts occassional Sunday events at Cafe Cairo in London alongside Pete Ardron (Orchid-Star) and is part of the Shanti Planti collective.</itunes:summary>

I first came across multi-instrumentalist Franck Jousselin many years back with a guest mix on Fluid Radio. What appealed to me was that he was mixing Depeche Mode and the Cure with Psy-Chill and Psy-Dub. I sought out his own productions which at the time were Psy-Chill but over the years become more electronica. His latest album 'Mystica' has even taken a step towards jazz fusions in some of the pieces. He began his career as a drummer/percussionist in the new wave band 'Romy' and more recently in house, electro/funk act 'Supernova Players' and is also one half of electro-pop act 'Triptone'. I've always thought that people chill out to different things some think of Chill Out as the laid back beach bar Balearic or Ambient, for others they might chill out to Classical or Soul. On his Maldelsauce show Cato's guests are mostly from the Balearic scence and you will find his own sets range from Yacht Rock to Alt-Disco and Chug. Here however, he puts together a set of Soul & Motown which he likes to chill out to.
Boxfrequency.fm has decided to call it a day with the radio station and put their time and money into a digital/vinyl label. To close I invited previous guests and a couple who were in the pipeline to see us out with an all-dayer show. I am in the process of uploading their sets over the next 12 days for your listening pleasure.

I first came across Martim Joao's music about 12 years ago and was taken aback by the sheer quality of his mixes. At the time they had running sample themes throughout the mix and earned him 3 hour sets at the chill out stage of Portugal's Boom Festival.

He wasn't in the positon to create a new mix but as he is one of (if not) my all time favourite chill out dj's and had reduced the number on his Soundcloud account. I requested this one that hasn't been online for some time and is themed around the movie 'Into the Wild'.

This month I was joined by my good friend Paul Neaves. He's not really a fan of social media so for those unfamiliar rest assured he won't disappoint. He began dj'ing at free parties in the early 90's at events such as Junction 14, went on to be a resident at the deep house night Simple and in more recent times we co-hosted the house/techno night Re-Bound. I'd say he's more of an endurance dj and I've often know him to play 14+ hours so this show will only be a glimpse into his collection.

We have previously chatted about the fact there are some down-tempo tracks that are hard and harsh and on the other side of the spectrum tracks with bpm in house, trance or drum & bass that you can sit back and let wash over you or have a dance. So after the initial part of the show (where I'll be playing some chilled out global grooves) both Pauls mix and myself after this is what we're aiming for.

Jah Shabby, or Barney as he’s more commonly known, is a journalist who has gone out of his way to play records at people whenever possible, be they willing dancers or indifferent drunks. A resident at London’s infamous Rock’n’ Roll Soul, he found himself at a loose end when the night went into hibernation after a decade of dancing. Fleeing Walthamstow after it succumbed to the double-pronged attack of craft beer and artisan bread, Barney’s Back and to the Left nights have now made the transition to Boxfrequency.fm. It has recently been described as “a two hour radio show on the third Wednesday of the month.”

Although it's a sound that's been around awhile it strikes me it's really gained ground over the last year. The resurgence of interest in vinyl has been well documented and recently so has the analogue sounds of the vintage synths.

The second section featured a special chill session from my guests 2 who fuse electronica with dub, trance and dnb creating a cosmic carnival for your ears. To say the session was warmly received by the listeners on the night is an understatement.

In the final section I finished with a epic piece of ambient techno from the Autumn of Communion.
The final hour concentrates on music from this year (with one exception) starting chilled and progressing to psy-dub. This section also showcases two tracks from the forthcoming album 'Unexpected Pleasures' by Pete Ardron (Orchid-Star) which is due for release in early November.

My counterpart Ian has decided to take a hiatus for the time being so I'll be taking over the reigns until his return. I'd like to take the opportunity to thank Ian for all his input and wonderful selections so far.

So hopefully you will join us for another three hours of blissful chilled out tunes on a lazy Sunday evening. I'll be joined by Salvatore Muscat A.K.A. Sequenchill who often tops the mixcloud ambient and chill out charts.

Salvatore Muscat aka Sequenchill’s interest in music started with the disco beats of Patrick Cowley and Sylvester before moving on to the rave scene in the late 80s. Salvatore was amazed by the music being played in the chillout rooms in the UK and from then onward Sequenchill’s collection of ambient records started growing. He cites his main influencers as being Pete Namlook, Mixmaster Morris, Dr Atmo, KLF, Move D, The Orb, Biosphere and Scanner. Salvatore’s chillout sessions got the ball rolling where he enjoyed playing his favourite music to a younger crowd which really appreciated what they were hearing.

This brought him recognition by being invited to play in numerous events like Earthgarden, Unfocused, Cubik, Avant Garde and also a few Psyevents where Sequenchill takes over the psychill area as well as the chillout sessions at Remissa. Salvatore follows the dub techno, deep house and oldschool scenes which will always have a place in his heart.

Through his Mixcloud page, he has gathered a great fan base from all around world with mixes which range from, ambient, chillout, and also a favourite of his which he named ‘Techno for socialising’ – these are mixes containing dub techno and dirty techno with a hint of ambient and have gone down really well with his followers. Sequenchill also has a selection of Psychill mixes.

the Chill Out Sessions returns for another 3 hour transcience of the down-tempo arts. This month I'm leaning more towards the dubbier side of chill with tracks old, new and promos yet to be released I'll be joined this month by a friend of mine who you may not be familiar with but I intend to use this platform to hopefully widen the audience of not only established artists but anyone I feel has something to offer. Anyway here's what he somewhat begrudingly has to say about himself ....

I started out playing chill out in the back rooms of Techno clubs back in the mid 90s followed by a couple of years working behind the counter in a record shop in Soho and a few seasons in Mallorca playing Balearic beats in various bars etc.

I'm presently one of the people behind a night called the Shakedown which happens monthly at a pool club in south London. We put on House nights and recently a Reggae one too and have played host to a variety of guests ranging from kid Batchelor, Jus-Ed & Jenifa Mayanja to Earl Gateshead from the Trojan Sound System and many more.

Musically it's all about the sunset for me, and the twilight that follows. I'm currently exploring all avenues of Dub past present and future in the firm belief that it's Jah that has all the best tunes really, whilst spending way too much time trying to formulate a modern day Balearic/Dub fusion born of a fascination of the sounds of small islands where there's only one place the sun goes when it sets, under water.

File under dub, roots, dub techno, deep techno, dub step, deep step, stargaze, sunset, ambient, Balearic, whatever.

The title of this selection is 'A Tidal Dub'
As some of those tracks are 30 mins in length I won't be uploading them here so if they are of interest you will have to follow the link http://www.sequentia-legenda.com/ for previews to purchase.
