"When the Saints Go Marching In", often referred to as "The Saints", is an American gospel hymn. Though it originated as a Christian hymn, it is often played by jazz bands. The song is sometimes confused with a similarly titled composition "When the Saints are Marching In" from 1896 by Katharine Purvis (lyrics) and James Milton Black (music)!

'Masters of Swing is the first EP from two Berlin turntable-obsessives and features a sensitive electronic remake of the previously almost unknown French version of the hit 'Bei Mir Bist Du Scheen' by Jean Peyronnin and three more catchy versions of the Six Swingers, Harry Roy and His Orchestra and Carroll Gibbons & His Boyfriends.

They sourced their material from the Green Queen Music compilation ‘Mouthful O’Jam’, which blows new life into the aural treasures of the 1920’s and 30’s - an infamous and exciting era of decadent dances and smokin’ swing music - featuring the likes of Duke Ellington, Count Basie, and Lil (not Louis) Armstrong.

It was a fortunate accident when Germany-based DJs Wolfgang Lohr and Louie Prima met at the Electro Swing Revolution Party in February 2015 at Astra Club Berlin.
Feeling that some new electro-swing tracks had become generic and a little safe, they began producing remixes and classic swing tracks which drew direct inspiration from the spirit and style of the ambitious pioneers from the birth of Electro Swing in 2010-2012.

Also known as DJ Globalution, this Electro Swing and World-Beats pioneer started his career in 1987 at the Club Atelier 89 in the former East Berlin.

He was one of the first Electro Swing DJ’s in Germany,

He is co- founder of the Electro Swing Revolution parties (together with Wolfram von Dobschütz) at the clubs Astra and Frannz in downtown Berlin as well as The Electro Swing Revolution Radio.

For the 3rd part of the ESE series, Phos Toni and Wolfgang Lohr have joined together for a DJ mix with tracks produced and collected exclusively for this compilation. The label Ton liebt Klang (Hamburg) quickly fell in love with this idea, and publishes the compilation both digitally and on vinyl. 18 exclusive electro swing tracks are the result of artists who are very successful in other genres. It is a large collection of current Electro Swing Club music, inspired by traditional swing mixed with modern tech-house, making it something for everyone.

"incontrol" aus Lyon und "Wolfgang Lohr" aus Berlin produzierten zunächst nur virtuell, über Dropbox, zusammen und schoben sich gegenseitig die Bälle zu.
Dann wurden die Ideen im Studio ausgearbeit und finalisiert. Das Ergebnis ist ein Electro Swing Track "Le Swing Ist King", der mit seiner eingebauten
Tanzgarantie nach vorne peitscht und einen satten Ohrwurm hinterlässt.
Der zweite gemeinsame Track "Holy Blues" siedelt sich im noch recht frischen Electro Blues Genre an. Hier treffen bluesige Vocals auf Mundharmonika,
Gitarre und eine satte Glide-Bassline.

Abgerundet wird die EP durch starke Remixe in eigener Interpretation, von "Shemian" (Deutschland), der als einer der Electro Swing Pioniere gilt,
und 2011 sogar für einen der besten Electro Swing Artist nominiert wurde. Und "Grant Lazlo" (Marseille) der in Frankreich und auch international
zu einer echten Größe mutiert ist! Die EP wird sowohl auf Vinyl, als auch digital im Juni 2013 bei dem Hamburger Label "Ton liebt Klang" released.

Dementsprechend abwechslungsreich geht´s zur Sache:
Wolfgang Lohr entfaltet ein gewitztes Wechselspiel zwischen klassischem Song und elektronischem Abgang. Mal steht sein butterweicher House Groove im Vordergrund, dann wieder gehört das Stereopanorama voll und ganz der Stimme von Miss Natnat.

As an accomplished trumpet player and vocalist Wolfgang Lohr has toured extensively with bands throughout Germany for the last fifteen years. More recently he devoted himself to producing and mixing for other bands and musicians. Apart from his own music on lables such as Satelitt Digital (Berlin), PR Underground (Sweden) and Symbiostic (Berlin), he has done remixes for artists such as Madness, Round Table Knights, Invisible Brothers, Roby Howler and Teenage Mutants.

Three Edits and Remixes were produced by Lennart Vonau from Lübeck, well known as a former part from DJ's@Work, who stormed the Top Ten of Media Control Charts in 2001 with 'Someday'. This was followed by attaining a VIVA/ZDF Cometen for the Best National Dance Act in 2002. Lennart produced Remixes for Rosenstolz, Patrick Bunton and more. Another Remix comes from Teenage Mutants. Pascal Klank and Kristian Samujlo from Mainz / Hamburg are part of the new German wave of producers.
