Support from: Lars Behrenroth, Chris Fortier, Mihai Popoviciu, Doc Martin, Flashmob, Joyce Muniz, Jimmy Van M, The Mekanism, the Organ Grinder, Jacques Renault, JP Chronic, UGLH, Roland Nights, Moodymanc, Marsupials, Kindimmer, Inland Knights, Jonny Cruz, Pablo Bolivar, Denite, Nasty Boy, Robbie Akbal, Laurent N., Owain, Laurent N, Jamie George, Manooz, Cole Medina, and many many more!

Tracklist:

01 - Heat Me Up (Original Mix)
02 - Heat Me Up (Sascha Dive's Q Remix)
03 - Need Something (Original Mix)
04 - Need Something (Fede Lng's Remix)

Some Quotes:

Chris Fortier: "Hypnotized by Sascha Dive"
Lars Behrenroth: "Dope release... nice'n'chunky"
The Mekanism: "Cool EP & Remixes!"
Joyce Muniz: "Sascha Dive's remix is my fave one!"
Mihai Popoviciu: "Sascha Dive remix for me!"
Doc Martin: "cool groove Mr. Dive :) "
Moodymanc: "Nice vibes....on the d/l, thanks"
The Organ Grinder: "really like Heat Me Up will give it a spin next opportunity... full support!"
Jimmy Van M: "Need Something (Original Mix) and Heat Me Up (Sascha Dive's Q Remix) are solid!! Will support! Thx :)"
Jacques Renault: "I dig Need Something!"
Roland Nights "Really like Fede Lng Remix, thanks!"
Owain (124 Recordings): "both originals work for me - really strong release"
Laurent N. "Top EP with nice original tracks and Great Remixes! I will play them for sure... FULL SUPPORT!!!"

An addictive groove powered by thumping filtered drums, chord stabs, steady builds and perfectly timed effects that build into a hard hitting cut that grabs you by the throat. The first track off of Ruff Stuffs EP Heat Me Up is the stuff dancefloors love, whether the floor is in a dark undergrould club or a sweaty dance off at a festival. Ruff Stuff has had amazing releases on labels such as Rough Recordings, Kolour & Cahoots Records and this one on SIM is also an exceptional example of this duos talent.

Sascha Dive (Cocoon Recordings, Tsuba and more) remixes the title track and gives the track a more deeper soulful touch with lovely overtures and funk filled drum work. Like a lot of Saschas work, this remix has class written all over it. Two words come to mind: Absolutely lush!

The original of Need Something is a deeper trip with thick beats, warm pads, chord and vocal stabs that will move any late night floor. Fede Lng who is the head honcho at Axe on Wax Records delivers a forward thinking version of Need Something with some toasty synth work and lots of character that will get a lot of heads bobbing on the floor.

Four sizzling tunes to keep you warm in these cold autumn nights. Grab them now.

Tracklist:
1 - vexuS T - Saviour
2 - vexuS T - I'm Wrong With You
3 - vexus T - Saviour (Liam Geddes Remix)
4 - vexuS T - I'm Wrong With You (Rush Plus DC Dub)

Quotes:

DJ W!LD - "I will play Liam remix thanks"
UGLH - "Rush Plus DC Dub - Nice thx!"
DJ Caspa - "Diggin the Liam Geddes remix here, plus the Saviour trac, will support those for sure..."
Carlo Gambino - "Lovely release - it has to be the lead track tahts my pick! Wicked vibe from the offset, right up my street. Fan of all Liam's stuff so he isn't far behind with this tidy remix. Full support, will play at my residency in Ibiza with Audiojack this Sunday :)"
Fish Go Deep - "Liam Geddes Remix working nicely here - Deep and driving!"
Deep South Sands - "Quality EP, "Savior" (orig) has a smooth vibe, that BASS! "I'm wrong with you" reminds me of early Greyhound rec. Quality vibes. Both remixes work well on the EP. Great work 10/10"
Deron Delgado - "Another solid EP from SIM!"

“I don’t claim to be the creator, but I’m a saviour. And I take the strange variables of human life, and make something out of the crazy quilt, that saves hundreds of lives.” These vocals from a sermon of the notorious mass murderer Jim Jones layered on top of a rolling bassline, effortless drum programming and a moody vibe makes “Saviour” a deep and dark start into an excursion that is this EP from vexuS T (King Street / Sonora Records) from Italy. The cereberal trip continues with “I’m Wrong With You”. This second track is also full of emotion with perfect placement of pads and piano and a male vocal that whispers “You should’ve told me before that I am what’s wrong with you”.

On remix duties we start with Liam Geddes (Music Is Love / Borg LTD) who brings a minimal take on “Saviour” with a dash of Acid thrown in.. the combination is a subtle yet hard hitting track. DC based Rush Plus, which is a new project from SIM crew members Jackson Ryland & Jus Nowhere, deliver the second remix which is a thumping Techno Dub of “I’m Wrong With You” that will be very comfortable at your favorite dancefloor in Berlin et al.

As always we pride ourselves in finding talent that deserves a good look and so vexuS T is one that should be on your radar. The dark themed vocals atop a danceable groove will really make for a deeper than usual trip at the club. Use these tracks wisely.
Tracklist:

P.Lopez - Hold Back
P.Lopez & Alex AQ - Call Again
P.Lopez & Matias Espinola - Deep Enough

Some Quotes:

Tjek (Armada Music): "Deep Enough - Club Support!"
Trent Cantrelle: "Hold back for me, nice grooves and synths with slick vocals!"
Toomy Disco: "Really interesting sounds here! lovin' the entire EP! "Call Again" & "Deep Enough" are my favs. Full support. Thanks!"
DJ Caspa: "Deep enough is my fav here, will be supporting that one in my radio shows.."
Morris Audio: "Solid Release."
Gemini Brothers: "Damn Great Release!! Love and support all these tracks!"
Jakhira: "Loving Hold Back a lot. Marvin Gaye, acid and Detroit-esque pads... all in one record!"
Ivan Gough: "So Good! Reminds me of some 1994 Sasha set.."

P.Lopez (Aeon / Dogmatik) is back on Silence In Metropolis and this time he brings his friends Alex AQ (Maktub Music / Evasive Records) & Matias Espinola (Aeon) along for the ride.

This three track EP has summertime smoothness written all over it. The first track “Hold Back” is a pool-side anthem that takes Marvin Gaye’s legendary vocal stabs and layers them on top of a thick drum pattern and deep pads that sets a super sexy mood. The arpeggiated synth that comes in at the break sends chills up your spine and the pads that follow caress you like a long lost lover returning.

If “Hold Back” is a seductive embrace then “Call Again” is a full blown love affair. The beat is reminiscent of 90’s Freestyle but the synth work on this track has a sophistication of its own. The breaks and buildups are spot on and will elevate any dancefloor.

The final track “Deep Enough” has that driving dancefloor grime with lots of authority. The male vocals “You know why I can’t be a rapper old man, cause my voice aint deep enough” along with the percussive groove and deep pulsating bassline demand a late summer night dancefloor.

There you have it. A solid package from one of our favorite SIM artist / crew. Don’t sit on this.
Bleak: "Proper House stompers!"

The newest release on Silence In Metropolis is a collaboration project from Tunisian producer Hausick (Assembly Records, Fresh Meat) and Germany based producer Djoko (Mad Mole Music, Cheif Recordings). The title track is aptly called Kickass and with a thumping kick, shuffling groove, deep bassline and stabby chords it will do just that on the dance floor. Second track Comfortable Strangeness is also targeting the dance floor with its big breaks and bassline heavy groove. Both of the originals will be strangely comfortable kicking some ass on the dance floor ... see what we did there?

The remixes are not to be messed with either. David Duriez (20/20 Vision, Mobilee) delivers a deep and driving techno tinged stomper of a remix of Comfortable Strangeness. While DC-based producer Chris Burns (Quantize, 410 Paradox) drops a sexy, deep & soulful vibe on his interpretation of Kickass that will keep the party going after hours. Chris also gives us an instrumental version to play with.

Nothing but quality well-rounded cuts on this Kickass of an EP. Pun intended.

Washington DC native Jackson Ryland is no stranger to the Silence In Metropolis crew...in fact he is one of the members. This, along side the fact that Rhythm Operator is on the same release makes this one a very special EP for SIM. The original track Prime from Jackson is a techno tinged stomper that demands a dance floor to move. Rhythm Operators Ignite Your Mind is a house diddy with classic elements and thick bassline perfect for a Summer party.

The B side is where each of the above artists remixes each other. Rhythm Operator tames Jacksons original and smooths it out for an open air late night affair. While Jackson adds his Tuff touch to Rhythym Operators Ignite Your Mind with a punchy in-yo-face bass / kick combo that again asks for a sweat filled dance floor to grab by the throat.

Proceed with caution on this EP.
With recent releases and remixes on various labels such as Get Physical, Ninja Tune, Tirk, Loungin', Brownswood, Wah Wah 45s, First Word, Body Work and Keep Up, the production unit known as LPZ have been recently described as Latin America's hottest export since Gisele Bundchen. And even though pretty much everyone is a fan of the Brazilian model it's easy to see why the Paraguayan trio has build such a reputation gaining support from the likes of Groove Armada, Maya Jane Coles, Mr Scruff, Sinden, Gilles Peterson and Toddla T with their soulful music, that's been making waves in the dance music scene since their remix of Morten Sorensen's Burn Down on Tirk.

This time the trio delivers two solid original dance cuts with lots of funk and sass. The title track All One builds stabs on top of a solid house groove and deep grinding bass. The second original "Hesitate" is a soulful track with a thumping kick and rolling bassline and smooth vocals and pads to round it off.

The remixes come from 2020Vision & MadTech producer Jonny Cade and DJ Nav who has releases on great underground labels such as Traxx Underground and Made Fresh Daily. Jonny Cade delivers a deep driving remix that will move any underground dance party. DJ Nav's remix is a soulful and deep atmospheric groove that will grab your attention right away.
Rhythm Operator is a name that has shown up on some quality imprints such as Lets Play House, W&O Street Tracks, Needwant, Glasgow Underground, Nurvous and Dirt Crew. His latest release for Silence In Metropolis is a 4 tracker EP which has classic Deep House vibe with contemporary overtones and sultry vocals. It's no wonder it is already getting support from the likes of Groove Armada, DJ Sneak, Claudio Coccoluto & Wally Lopez.

The title track 'Mission of the Heart' kicks off with a deep wobbly bassline and builds into a sexy track that has some great atmospheric soul. 'Blinding Light' kicks off with a kick and a snare a al 909 slowly building up with deep Juno pads that further builds into a late night stomper. Big bassline, punchy drums, smooth keys and the words "gotta get it on tonight" are what make 'All I Want' brilliant in its simplicity. The EP closes out with a tune as deep and seductive as the rest on the release; 'Be Somebody'.

Tanzlife & Kammerton drop 'Those Family Affairs' EP on Silence in Metropolis this August, with Martin Aquino and Sam Haas remixes in tow. The Washing DC-based imprint Silence in Metropolis returns this summer with a dynamic four-track offering from Tanzlife & Kammerton. Despite its relatively fresh start the label welcomes the pair to an ever-burgeoning roster to sit beside names such as Funkdamentalist, Dale Howard and more recently JMF following his popular 'Point to Yourself' EP that dropped back in May.

Tanzlife gets straight into things with the jacking beats of 'Those Days', working in shifting percussion over lively intonations and a welcome addition of oscillating acid crunch towards the end. For 'Family Affair' Kammerton employs a rippling drum arrangement to seamlessly bubble alongside warbling bass while a velvety female vox resonates 'it's a family affair' punching out an undeniably hypnotic groove to the dynamic cut.

First up for remix duty is San Francisco native Martin Aquino who dishes up a warm and stripped back melodic track cultivated over infectious shifting percussion and warm rolling bass while Silence In Metropolis affiliate Sam Haas's knocks out a catchy off-kilter house cut built over broken beats and a wacked out 303 hook for his vibrant re-imagining.

A year or so after launching and Silence in Metropolis has already garnered a great reputation for its inventive house music. Here the label turns to JMF for a new EP featuring remixes from Rekreation and Dudley Strangeways.

JMF, who has remixed for this label before now, is a midlands based producer who pushes an underground, distorted sound and takes inspiration from people like Rio Padice, Mike Huckaby and Kris Wadsworth. Back To You, Holic Trax, Static Audio and Kote have all released his music and Luciano and Ritchie Hawtin have leant support.

Opening track 'Point To Yourself' is a wiry and sinewy bit of house with squelchy synth lines and lively hi hats. The chunky drums form a nice propulsive bed and the twitchy textures sure keep your synapses firing throughout.

On remix duties is ReKreation aka James Hill and Ben Morling, the Manchester based duo that has had music signed to Noir Music, Pura Music and Save Room. Their re-rub of the track is a more airy, spaced out and serene affair with a firing Whitney vocal and elastic basslines that bring plenty of dynamism to the table.

JMF's other original is 'Room 2', a taught dubbed out house affair that's all grey buffed metal textures and bulbous steel basslines. They sound drunk as they lazily undulate and the percussion up top is beautifully grainy. This is a perfectly paced early evening warm up tune that is impossible not to bounce to.

Dudley Strangeways, who has been impressing with his LeftBack label, steps up to remix 'Room 2' and brings his usual tough house aesthetic to the table. His beats are bulky, his synths are widescreen and searching and the roomy arrangement allows them plenty of room to breath. It's a classy bit of dub.

Once more here Silence in Metropolis offer up forward thinking house that is fresh, well produced and right on the money.
1. Jus Nowhere & Sam Haas - Wrapped Up
2. Jus Nowhere & Sam Haas - Wrapped Up EP (VELCRO Remix)
3. Sam Haas - Turned On
4. Jus Nowhere - Burnin

Continuing down their own interesting underground path, Silence in Metropolis offers up a new EP from the studio duo that is Jus Nowhere and Sam Haas, with a remix from ALiVE Recordings duo Velcro.

Jus Nowhere has previously released on Definition:Music, Disco Kicks & MEME Sounds, has turned in a well-received remix for this label before now and can count Huxley and Climbers amongst fans of his tracks. His partner here, Sam Haas, is signed to i! Records & MEME Sounds and is very hot prospect indeed.

The first track the pair turn out is 'Wrapped Up', a bumpy bit of sexy house music with lively drums bobbing about, coarse claps bringing some energy and some soulful vocal stabs imbuing the thing with plenty of human richness.

You can imagine it becoming something of an underground anthem and the remix from L.A.'s Velcro is just as nice. His version is a little more serene, with a reflective mood matching the reflective synths and glistening hi hats. When it drops hands will likely reach skyward, such is the impact of the carefully crafted moment of release.

Sam Haas then goes solo on 'Turned On' and proves himself to be a fine craftsmen of deep and driving house music. His love struck track is awash with thick synths, whispering female vocals and a nice driving bassline. Then it's Jus Nowhere's turn to go it alone on 'Burning', which kicks like a mule and has some subtle garage infections in its shuffling beats. Bold chords, well-treated vocals and a gorgeous bassline make this another sure fire floor filler.

This is no nonsense house music that will get dancefloors dancing and feeling good all at the same time.
2. Waiting (Sam Kosh Remix)
3. My Soul
4. My Soul (Prab K's Reality Remix)

Early Support from: Danny Howells, Balcazar & Sordo, X-Press 2, UGLH, Leftwing & Kody, Kellerkind, Brother's Vibe, Ugly Drums, Droog, :terry:, Nikko Gibler, Nathan G, Claudio Coccoluto + more.

Next up on the Silence in Metropolis label he co-runs is Funkdamentalist aka Bilal A, who has previously released on i! Records and Something Different Records, picking up support along the way from DJs like Roger Sanchez, Luna City Express and No Artificial Colours. This EP comes backed with remixes from Sam Kosh and Prab K.

Funkdamentalist comes from the deep suburbs of Washington DC, which is where he started this label along with friend Sam Kosh. The sound of his productions will take you back to the fundamentals of house music, so expect great basslines and grooves but most of all - pure feel good music.

First track 'Waiting' is a choppy, chord heavy affair with smooth drums and a buried-deep and bulbous bassline that keeps the track and dancers moving right to the end. There's a dark tension to it all thanks to the muted male vocals and moody chords, but label partner Sam Kosh switches things up with his remix.

Here the chords are more bubbly and aqueous, neon in colour and spritely in character. They bounce along with the sandy beats and make for selective hands-in-the-air moments before things drop back into the deep-cut groove once again.

Next original 'My Soul' is a choppy percussive number that wallows in the deep dark depths of house music with only a solitary pad for company. Eventually well-treated vocal samples join the jumbled percussion, as do some frazzled synths and funky claps. It's no-nonsense house music driven by its Juno bassline and gets a remix from No. 19 Music artist Prab K. His version is a little more loose and liquid. It goes deep and introspective and allows some sombre synth lines to really shine at its core.

This is another versatile package from the Silence in Metropolis label that proves Funkdamentalist to be not only a label boss steering his imprint in the right direction, but also a fine producer in his own right.

1. Summer Crunch
2. Summer Crunch ( Evren Ulusoy Remix )
3. Motorcycles
4. Motorcycles ( P.Lopez Remix )
EARLY SUPPORT FROM:
Osunlade, Claudio Coccoluto, X-Press 2, Huxley, Droog, Kellerkind, Ekkohaus, Johnny Cade, UGLH, :terry:, Nick Holder, Jeff Craven, Timmy Stewart, Dirty Channels, Nathan G, Brothers' Vibe, Julein Sandre, Nikko Gibler, Simone Giuddi + more.

Silence In Metropolis aims to act as a hub for new artists breaking through; artists who mine a forward thinking vein of deep house, techno and the many shades in between. For their 4th release they turn to UK talent Michael McLardy for two original tracks and two remixes, one from P Lopez and one from Evren Ulusoy.

So far Mclardy has appeared on labels like Alive, Save You and Deso with a cultured house sound, and first track here ‘Summer Crunch’ follows in that good stead. It’s a slow and low slung groove detailed with deft little jazz chords, bird sounds and plenty of loose limbed percussion. The effortless melodies suggest McLardy has classical piano training under his belt and the vibe overall is one of pure late summer, early evening bliss. The remix comes from Turkish Beatport Chart topper and Moodmusic associate Evren Ulusoy. He redesigns the track for more energetic moments on the dancefloor. His kicks are a bit more upright and propulsive and the pads are that bit more rigid, bringing with them a nice bit of organic and musical funk.

McLardy’s other original ‘Motorcycles’ again shows the man’s ability to craft low-slung and louche grooves with plenty of human roughness and genuine warmth. This one features a dumpy kick drum underneath and a melange of percussive clicks and ticks up top. It’s sensuous and slow burning house music that you can really feel in your bones. Dogmatik and Tirk producer P. Lopez from Paraguay goes in on the remix this time. Having had support from the likes of Groove Armada and Maya Jane Coles in the past it’s no surprise his version is a deep and groovy interpretation with clever use of filters to build tension and a fine driving bassline propping the whole thing up.

Staying true to their mission, with this EP SIM have introduced us to some fine new talents and easily lovable new house sounds.

Silence In Metropolis is a new vinyl and digital label that has a discerning ear when it comes to underground House music. Now on its third release the imprint aims to serve as a hub for up and coming talent alongside established artists that have already paved the way. For their next EP they turn to Usual Things Around, a trio based out of Italy and made up of Manuel de Lorenzi, Paul DC and Samuele Pirani who have clocked up support from the likes of Richie Hawtin, with remixes coming from man of the moment Dale Howard and Jus Nowhere.

The Usual Things Around trio have long histories dating back to the 90s and taking in party promotion, label management and many production projects, and that heritage shows in their tracks.

First is ‘Rescue’, a chunky cut and heavy house groove with well defined percussion and teasing vocal samples. The rubbery bassline will no doubt slay dancefloors whilst the twinkling melodies work just as well on head as they do on heel.

The remix comes from Jus Nowhere - the pseudonym for the Washington DC based Justin Nouhra who has releases forthcoming on Rebel Hill and hometown label, Silence in Metropolis. His rework of ‘Rescue’ is more intricate and tightly layered, the drums are a bit looser, the groove more fluid and the neon glow of the background pads seem extra warm.

The other original is ‘It’s Real’ a fulsome and cantering track that verges on techno with its metallic stabs, clicking percussion and dubby ambiance. Driving on and on with subtle elements creeping in and out of the mix, from weird voices to ditty chords via what sound like bird calls, it’s a track for the body and no mistake.

After serving up some chart topping bombs for the likes of Morris Audio and OFF Recordings, Dale Howard is very much a new school talent on the charge. His remix is garage inclined remix shuffles and wiggles along without any friction, just the deftest of melodic touches, and closes out a very promising EP from an equally auspicious new label.

EP Description:

For our second release, Silence in Metropolis turns to Paraguayan producer P Lopez, whose deep house with a distinct urban flair (on labels like Dogmatik and Keep Up) has won support from the likes of Maya Jane Coles, Alex Arnout and Tom Findlay of Groove Armada fame.

The title track "Shame" has an infectious groove and punchy kick drum at its core set off against 909 snares & hi-hats. The percussion is skippy and garage leaning whilst the nimble bassline bounces up and down the scale and takes you with it.

Fast rising Hot Waves producer and Leeds based DJ Matt Fear delivers a sure-fire dancefloor bomb of a remix which is catchy but classy at the same time. He imbues the track with more drama and elasticity, raw machine lines lacing up drum fills, weird FX and a killer bassline finished off with breathy vocal cries.

B-Side track "Keeping Up" has plenty of celestial key patterns up top as a tight kick clap combo powers on below. Propulsive yet rich with emotion, it's a stylishly tripped out and late night house track that will have the right dancefloors locked in the driving deep house groove.

This time the remix comes from DJ Hell and Alex Niggemann endorsed producer George Carrasco aka Matches. His remix stumbles and tumbles through rich drums, classic sounding percussion and an aqueous and mysterious ambiance that always retains your focus.

EP Description:

Brand new US based house label Silence in Metropolis launches with a superb single from Dale Howard backed with remixes from Leftwing & Kody and JMF…

Liverpool’s Dale Howard has become synonymous with quality house music since bursting on to the scene four years ago with releases on Neurotraxx, Starlight and Sleaze Records. Since then he has become a ‘go to’ man for standout productions with his music finding a home with respected labels such as Morris Audio, OFF Recordings and Noir. Now this much-lauded producer is joining forces with new kid on the block Silence in Metropolis, a brand new label coming from Washington DC with its sights set firmly on releasing the best in House music.

The ‘Give Me EP’ opens with the original version of the title track, a bumpin’ deep house affair that marries rolling house rhythms with classic garage elements to provide an instantly hooky cut. Howard’s production skills shine with tightly edited vocals, skittering beats and subtle keys, quality stuff. The original version of ‘Give Me’ is backed with a remix from OFF and ALiVE artists Leftwing & Kody who deliver a garage flavoured killer complete with high strings, percussive organ stabs and old school bassline.

The second of the two originals, ‘Get You’, again journeys into deep house / garage crossover territory with a Nineties feel fuelled by soulful vocal parts, shuffling drums and classic hooks. The remix duties this time fall to JMF, a producer who is working with labels such as Holic Trax and Static Audio, here he twisted ‘Get You’ into a chunky and raw house workout that is a perfect closer for this superb package.
