Every summer, pet shelter hosts lots of mum cats with their babies.
This has been a very big issue for me all thoose years because of Scoubidou's story, that you can see in my arms on the pic.
This mum got trap with one kitten. Then placed in cage.
After some times, she had her kitten taken away from her when he got adopted.
So she got neutered. And after all this placed with several other cat to await for adoption.
Well she almost died of all these and could not find her place in all this circus.
Hopefully, Scoubidou could get a fast adoption with a family who already had a young aged kitten, so Scoubidou could come back in her mothers role and it saved her life.
But i was so afraid to see her not resist to it, as it is hard for any stray cat to get trapped and locked up in a shelter.
And for a mother cat it's almost impossible to leave.
So over the years, we've placed a maximum of thoose little families outside our shelter, in real family homes, where mum cats could find a place to raise ther babies comfortably. The baby they raise were then stronger and more socialised than the one that were kept inside the shelter walls.
It is a real solution for shelters to adopt for this category of cats, as for the orphan kittens.
And Scoubidou is the mum cat who showed me the way.
