Recorded (interview) by Mr. Woodworth - Recording of the family at Christmas time with the Keeler Grandparents now residing in Barnes Kansas, which is a city in Washington County, Kansas. Features some family historical background: Mr. George Keeler, speaking about growing up in the (Kiowa County, Colorado) country side. He talks about the early settlement of eastern Colorado. Stating when he was young the 1st home he counted was 17 and then there were about 375 homes when the family left after living there for 5 year before moving to Kansas in a covered wagon. Mrs. Keeler speaks about her keeping house for homesteader “Laure Freeman” (who taught school) and then Mrs. Keeler also shortly mention that she also was teaching school “Down by the Claim” (?) and Mr. Keeler also taught school in Brandon, Colorado. The Last story George Keeler talks about his marriage and some funny moment re: the “Shivaree” re: his horses and the barn where he stalled them and trying to light a kerosene lamp.
