LEE'TAL

“A so we stay “is the cache phrase of Lee’tal, encompasses the man, his lifestyle and his craft. Born Rohan Lee to parents Tom and Jerdeanal Lee in the parish of St. Cathrine and raised in Mandeville, Manchester, Jamaica Lee’tal was exposed to Dancehall music from the early age of 10 years. He funely tells the story of seeing his brother falling a sleep in front of the radio and thinking to himself, what’s so sweet inside there that he falls asleep in front of the radio time and time again? He soon realized the power of music and began listening to the radio alongside his older brother. This gave him the musical knowledge and confidence to become a member of his schools choir while attending Prep and High School in Mandeville, Manchester. Throughout his days of singing on the school choir he always paid particular attention to his skills as a story teller and lyrists. His favourite subject in school was English and he excelled in story writing. This skill is even now more evident in the way he constructs his songs, lyrics and stage performance. Lee’tal also came under the influence of his high school music teacher, Mr. Dazivada. Who sadly passed away when Lee’tal was in grade nine. This dealt a devastating blow to the young Lee’tal musical growth, but In typical Lee’tal fashion he used this adversity as opportunity and began to explore even more musical forms of expressing himself and found DJing to be what he is must inclined to. In addition to his day-to-day responsibilities of running Voice Room Recording Studio in Mandeville Jamaica, he still finds the time to write and record his own material and tour the local and international Dance Hall seen. He has performed on shows in Kingston, Montego Bay, Orland Florida, Boston, and many other places. Opening for well know reggae acts such as Abidjah and Shango Axe. He has also performed alongside acts such as Vybz Kartel, Movado, Coco Tea, Beenie Man, Bounty Killa, to name a few. Every show that Lee’tal performs his performance is always well received by his ever increasing fan base which speaks volumes to the hard work that this young DJ puts into his stage performance. Marlon Young DJ from Fame FM radio station, states that he “has seen vast improvements in the work that this young DJ now puts out” and Lee’tal is committed to putting out there to the listening public even better works. Lee’tal would like to see his music on every news stand and record shop shelves across the world while touring the world for years to come spreading his take on music and life. But he maintains a corm and relax persona but at all times exzooding confidence and belief in his abilities. Abilities that should serve him well in his future exploits. Watch out for this one people, he is a hit!
