The city known as Phan Thiet is a new city if you compare it to some of the other cities in [Vietnam.](https://www.tripda.in/gastronomy/) It has only been settled since the last century. But its neighbor Mui Ne has a much longer and more interesting story. The name Mui Ne translated means "sheltered peninsula," and that's exactly what it is. Due to a steady ocean breeze and a very low yearly rainfall Mui Ne has the best weather in the country of Vietnam. Mui Ne sits comfortably behind sand dunes and touches the sea affectionately. It has rapidly become the major resort area in Vietnam.
Mui Ne history is filled with stories of the Cham Kingdom which is what this area was called in the 8th century. There is a tower from that century that still stands and a temple that has been buried for over 300 hundred years in the area known as Mui Ne today. There are daily stories about ghosts, fairies, monsters and gods that the locals claim are real. It's a magical part of Vietnam where people can come and forget daily life and connect to nature and the sea that surrounds the peninsula of Mui Ne.

Fishing is the main source of food and it supports the economy along with tourism. Fruit, fish and other products from the area, are shipped all over Vietnam and throughout Asia as well. It's a rich part of the country that offers not just food, but a major resort for the rest of the world to enjoy.

Mui Ne has become a new home for hotels and surf shops over the last 10 years. The windsurfing and kite surfing sports are the second to none in Mui Ne. The conditions are perfect for the enthusiasts that visit from around the globe to experience their favorite sport. The restaurants have traditional Vietnam cuisine and a mixture of Chinese and Indonesian specialties prepared the Vietnamese way. The service offered in the hotels and restaurants is four stars and each staff member puts the guest first. The rooms are clean and are filled with modern amenities and special treats. Waking up in paradise to the sound of the surf and sea birds calling your name becomes a daily event. Meetings, cell phones and messages become past events that have no meaning in Mui Ne.

If clear skies, beautiful beaches, cool breezes and crystal blue water sounds like a holiday you want to experience, Mui Ne is the spot. Life's too short not to stop what you're doing, buy an airplane ticket, pack a bathing suit, head to the airport and began to live your dream. It's your time to be who you are and Mui Ne knows how to treat that person royally.
