DJ Tranzit

Residing in Arizona and representing the Southwest, DJ Tranzit is a multifaceted DJ and producer. In just under two decades, he became heavily sought-after among the nation’s biggest and brightest house music aficionados.

During the mid-nineties, in the hey day of candy raving, Tranzit found himself becoming part of a community he related to. Other than attending raves in his home town of Albuquerque, NM, Atari 8-bit soundtracks and late night hours of nonstop Nintendo gaming were Tranzit’s initial introduction into the electronic music scene. For a solid decade, Tranzit analyzed and studied electronic music, honing his DJ skills and advancing his music production.

In 2005, Tranzit was awarded the title “Best House DJ”, became a household name in Arizona’s underground scene, hosted and promoted his own events, and continues to shape the underground dance music culture for Phoenix, Arizona.

Tranzit plays at clubs, venues and music festivals across the United States and shares the stage with some of electronic music’s biggest acts including Hardwell, Dada Life, Kaskade, & R3hab. Tranzit is no stranger to international travel. He went global, playing at the British Embassy in Kuwait, the Great Pyramids of Giza, Canada and parts of Mexico.

When he’s not on tour, Tranzit is a mainstay for the Arizona FM airwaves, and has been for a decade, with weekly mixes on 92.7 FM Energy Radio. His latest residency is with Live 101.5 FM Phoenix “The House Party” Mix show - a monthly radio show with over one million listeners every Saturday night from 2-4am.

Tranzit’s first EP “Strike”, which features the tracks ‘Strike’ and ‘Truffle Sex’ embody his style with aggressive electro basslines, hard hitting snares and solid melodic breakdowns. Strike is Tranzit’s biggest record to date and was released on Chicago-based label Ménage Recordings (owned by legendary House Music producer and DJ - Bad Boy Bill).

Tranzit is most proud of teaching and mentoring aspiring DJ’s and producers at Scottsdale Community College. Since 2012, Tranzit continues to co-create and teach, along with DJ Rob Wegner and Ruthless Ramsey, the world’s first certified and credited DJ classes which continue to gain national and international interest. Tranzit teaches electronic dance music production, electronic music 1 & 2, and digital DJ performance techniques. Aside from teaching courses, Tranzit is teaching and mentoring DJ Mpower, one of the world’s first special needs DJ’s.

Currently signed to labels TRXX Recordings, Ménage Music, and Plasma Media, Tranzit is certainly riding a high wave right now with no plans of coming down. Tranzit is currently in the studio working with legendary Hot Mix 5 DJ, Mickey Oliver, on some upcoming projects. His latest release, “Pilot Wings”, is a strong follow up to his “Strike” EP, with several tracks on their way to follow suit.
