This folk song in Yoruba tells a story of how leafy vegetables cannot be eaten because a bug (kokoro efo) ate through it. When people try to see the cause of the damage, they always search outside of the vegetable whereas the culprit bug can be found right within the vegetable itself.It is a proverbial yoruba folk tale used to explain why the people that hurt you most are usually the closest to you. I played the acoustic guitar(self taught beginner)and the harmonious vocals' all me :) Vsax on the ambient keys. Enjoy!

About the Song
The inspiration for the song is 3-fold, 1. from a childhood yoruba playful 'folk' song - when kids playing outside see an aeroplane fly by, they run after it singing the song which I adapted into the chorus here (see lyrics below) 2. the lyrics of the first verse is a cry of the fatherless male child and 3.the lyrics of the second verse - I was thinking about the "Chibok girls that have not been brought back" (#BringBackOurGirls) all these scenarios weave into this nostalgic, emotional yet reminiscent song that I hope will pull your heartstrings as you listen.
