This is the unedited version of that storm. Im not quite sure what mood this inspires or nurtures but it is certainly an audio testimony to the power of this storm. Although I did not get hit by tornado it produced the tornado did hit only about 5 miles away.

Recorded under the tin roof of a kids playhouse in Fayette County Ohio on 5.19.2020

This storm produced a tornado within 5 miles of the place of this recording. The rain sometimes pounds, sometimes just patters on the tin roof. The mics were semi-sheltered but definitely were exposed to wind and rain to some degree. The winds and rain were so intense I had to cut a lot of the most intense parts of the storm out. I did so as sparingly as possible but there were probably somethign like 10 minutes cut out in all.

The rain sometimes pounds, sometimes just patters on the tin roof. This old barn has a LOT of bird nests in it so at times it sounds like your in an aviary. Thunder is mostly mild and (for me) really soothing.

It was difficult to get a strong rain on tin roof sound, without getting serious distortion when thunder hit..but I think I struck a decent balance.

I recorded this under a tin roof. The audio manages to capture the rain hitting it pretty well! Also there is bird song, thunder, insects and wind.

The audio levels were a little high so there is some clipping with the louder bits of thunder. This makes for great listening for everything from working to sleeping!
