Mannheim producer Thorsten Hammer here steps up to the Natural Rhythm label with a new track that once again proves him to be a unique tech house talent. The release comes backed with a remix from Lekesch & Schekel.

Over the years Hammer has released on labels like his own Ametist, as well as others such as Soulman, Straight Music and many more. His style evolves with each release and can be anything from deep to tracky, and fans include the likes of Monika Kruse, Luciano and Laurent Garnier.

The track, ‘What A L’ is a deep and involving offering that is rich with bubbling drums, gurgling synths and elastic rhythms that all wrap around each other to great effect. It swells subtly like the house music of the Innervisions crew and features plenty of atmosphere as well as whispered human vocals.

Lekesch & Schekel are the fast rising duo on remixing duties. Their version strips back everything to a hollowed out tech funk groove with spoken word musings talking about the London riots. It makes for an ominous atmosphere and a groove that’s as dark as it is direct. It closes out a fantastic two track offering.
