Deliver Me

Oh Lord
I know ya been good to me
I’ve been working tirelessly
But words won’t appear

When I’m alone
My mind’s like a symphony
These thoughts my mind brings to me
So much I can’t hear

But gone in a flash
Like I’ve startled the herd
Scatter all to and fro
All disappear

So I await
Give em the sideways eye
Make em think I’m travelin’ by
But nothing appears

Oh Lord
I know ya been good to me
I beg you’ll deliver me
Help from the sky

I’m alone
In need of a symphony
It used to come easily
Now everything's dry

I struggle in vain
I’m calling out your name
Begging to bring the rain
From the sky

So I await
Waiting for word from you
In the meantime all I can do
is continue to write
