I love doing this kind of thing. Putting two people together, both unaware of the others role, adding a bit of dirt and then stirring it all up in a (or with some) pot. Fortunately they both love it! So match-maker or pimp... you decide.

PS - Any budding guitar nerds out there... I got that staccato effect on my guitar by hitting some harmonics, pulling my whammy bar and putting a high gate on my guitar effects so it made the notes break up at the end (and sound like scraping your hands down an inflated balloon). Who said 'yawn'? Get fucked. ;)

I got that staccato effect on my guitar by hitting some harmonics, pulling my whammy bar and putting a high gate on my guitar effects so it made the notes break up at the end (and sound like scraping your hands down an inflated balloon). Who said 'yawn'? Get fucked. ;)

Burning embers underwater
(words by Luciole Langevine)


Under the white swirls
 and the smooth surface, hermetically closed, frozen in the lake,
 such as wireless puppets, posed on mud bed
. Staring eyes.

The glossy touch. Long brown algae 
and slow motion of the aquatic mass, 
viscous cold shroud 
enveloping flowage

.
This is where they have failed and sunk, 
taking with them their useless weapons. 


When small keys, 
the delicate spring will return to earth. 

When the conquering sun will dart 
golden rays
, its light sweetness, in the delivered water. 
When the banks will vibrate, 
watering the roots
 that the lake will shudder beneath butterflies wings 
and its blue mirror will stretch in an astounded O
 for diving birds.

When in its depths 
and out of sleep, 
the hungry fishes, 
scavengers, dark cleaners, lips curled over sharp razors 
in a rolling ballet, 
undulating fins 
and noxious bubbles
, will devour all the flesh of the lying bodies. 

It will remain of these foolish men 
under the sun, victorious sun, 
only pale bones, some yellow ivory
 and steel reflections.

He was still 'standing to attention' when he walked out of the bedroom. She watched, with one eye open, and laughed into the pillow with a coldness that betrayed just what she was really thinking.
And he never even knew that she wasn't really sleeping.
She was possessed by a devil but her scent was heaven sent. He faltered in his footsteps when he considered what she meant when she told him that she loved him but she 'didn't really need him anymore'.
And he thought, "If life is a lesson, if life is a lesson, what have I learned? if life is a lesson, what have I learned?".

She didn't know why she had told him but now the cat was out of the bag. And she wanted so to hold him but the bruises and the bleeding held her back.
Her back was cold.
She'd had her fill of beatings.

As he strode on down the corridor she saw it now for evermore - she'd never even known him and he really was a stranger. And there and then she knew her young life was endangered. And she thought, "If life is a lesson, if life is a lesson, what have I learned? if life is a lesson, what have I learned?".
Oh God! What could she do? She reached into his record bag, fumbled for a cigarette but "shit" he hadn't any left (they'd smoked them all the night before).
Then, suddenly, her fingers found the handle of a gun...

... meanwhile he pondered the implications of her actions. How could he carry on with her blood on his hands? There and then he decided to forgive her 'indiscretions', many though they were.

When he re-entered the room he was surprised to find her standing but her back was turned against him and he caught her in reflection. Realising her intention much to late to be effective, he raised his hand one final time and she blew him into kingdom come.
And she thought,
"If life is a lesson, if life is a lesson, what have I learned?

If you close your eyes you can hear Breton counting it in and Cocteau, Picasso, Piaf and Josephine Baker chatting in the crowd.
