President Trump confirmed Sunday that ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi died during U.S. military operations in Syria. During a White House press conference, the president announced Baghdadi died following a special raid in the northwestern Syrian province of Idlib overnight.
However, The Washington Post appears to be glorifying the legacy of ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. In its Sunday obituary, the newspaper initially referred to Baghdadi as the "Islamic State's terrorist-in-chief." They later changed the headline to define him as an "austere religious scholar at the helm of the Islamic State."
