Well, here is my final release for 2012 and it is probably not what you were expecting - I know I wasn't expecting it. In fact, I imagine that this track is probably going to offend some of my SoundCloud friends and purists out there.

Led Zeppelin, Elvis, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones... There are just some things that you shouldn’t mess around with. So I’m told.

Before you get all hot under the collar let me explain. This track is nothing more than an experiment. I was recently trying to figure out some new editing software and Zep’s ‘Whole Lotta Love’ just happened to be the first random thing I cued up to play around with. Obviously I got a little carried away and made an entire track.

For the record, let me say that the mighty Led Zep got it 100% perfect and certainly don’t need anyone - especially me - messing with their classic. I’m sure you would agree. But surely re-mixing or sampling doesn’t detract from the brilliance of the original. Hell, in this case it might even enhance the original if you don’t like what I have done.

That said, I really don’t know where I stand on remixes. I think to myself why can’t people just create their own music, however when somebody takes a song into new, unchartered territory it can be pretty exciting. Everybody is bound to have their own opinion. To be honest I don’t even know if this qualifies as a remix as I basically created new riffs all over the place. By the way, the interview that kicks in at around 2:00 is an interview with Jimmy Page and Robert Plant from 1970.

Anyway, I hope you all have a great end of year break and I’ll be back posting tracks in early 2013. I’ll still be online should anyone want me to listen to something.

Take care.
