Don't BLAME Me | Taylor Swift | A Hopeful Piano Cover | The Casual Pianist | Reputation
"A piano cover of Don’t Blame Me using reflective, hopeful, and dark tones"
About the music cover:
When I listen to this song, I hear an internal dialogue of oneself going through the motions of self-reflection. In this process, I feel the persona does not seek forgiveness for his/her actions but instead, voices the events in a “repeat mode” and embraces his/her insensitivity as it grows. Therefore, I started this piano cover with minor chords that step up and down the keys in a sequence. I used dissonance to represent the disconnects and the low-mid register of the keyboard with the melody to convey a sense of hope that is not bright or gloomy.

This cover was recorded on the keyboard via MIDI to minimise distortion. I did not realise there were so many challenges associated with recording from a keyboard without the proper inputs/outputs.
My later music videos were recorded with a real piano.
