Opening sets are crucial in laying down a foundation for the night. Our events hold high standards for each and every jock to fulfill whether our resident DJs or our vetted guests. Our bookings aren't taken lightly as we believe our reputation is the cornerstone of success. So when we asked Kinohou to be our guest for our 4th edition of our standout Blackout event, we knew he'd be on par with the requirements needed.
A Hawaiian native, Peter "Kinohou" Curtis dives quite a bit deeper than most dare to venture. Answering the calling to the meaning of his middle name “new beginnings,” Kinohou moved to San Diego in 2014 and quickly asserted himself within the local scene and has since solidified his status in San Diego by sharing the decks with many marquee players including San Diego and L.A. Heavyweights. His style primarily consists of foreign sounds ranging from trippy deep tech house to groovy tribal and minimal techno, all while covering a wide range of 'basses' for urban and outdoor settings. As we look forward to his essential opening set at Blackout IV, we can bask in the audio collection we're blessed to hear on this episode of the Techniche Radioshow.
