He discovered his love for electronic music in the mid 90's when he attended house and techno parties with local DJs. From then on, his intimate love affair with house music began. The sound of Chicago with labels like Cajual and Relief and Prescription brought him the most inspiration. His whole trajectory changed and music became his life. The task of discovering music became an infinite loop of collecting records. After 11 years of touring dance floors as a spectator and amateur DJ, in 2005 he acquired his first turntables, technics 1200s. When he finally felt he had an extensive vinyl collection, he decided to venture into the world of DJing professionally.

Now, with some years of experience, Big Pack has played in key clubs all over Mexico, opening for artists such as Kevin Saunderson, Kenny Larkin, Derrick Carter, Phil Weeks, Wally Callerio, Andrew Emil, JT Donaldson , Oliver Dollar, 1200 Warriors, to name a few.

He is busy with several internet radio show residencies on Sugarshackradio.com, Radio Webphre and his own podcast & label, House Salad Music, featuring the best DJs in house music. He is in his 700th episode of HSM podcast and has yet to put one of his own mixes on this platform.

Convinced of the timelessness of music, his mixes are a real tunnel of time, where he plays classics combined with the freshest of modern house.

Darius is a self proclaimed "House Addict". He fell in love with the house sound as a teenager living in Montreal back in the early '90s when he would stay up late on Friday nights and record a dance mix show on Montreal radio. He was hooked from then on. He then proceeded to start mixing with one tape deck and a CD player and never looked back.

When he moved to Vancouver in the late '90's, he started buying records almost daily and spent most of his free time at his favourite record stores at the time, Bassix and Mekanix records. Over the next few years, Darius held various residencies and ran 2 club nights in Vancouver, playing alongside such talent as Lawnchair Generals and Johnny Fiasco, as well as playing at numerous after hours and raves. After getting tired of both the late nights and politics in the scene, he decided it was time to hang up the headphones in the early 2000s, but the love of house music still burned inside of him as the years passed.

In 2013 he decided he wanted to get back into DJ'ing and purchased a basic Pioneer controller and started to collect digital tracks again. Over the past few years Darius has been busy making a name for himself in the underground scene with numerous guest mix appearances around the world on such labels as House Salad, Reason2Funk, Uglyhouse, Little Routine, Selecta Music, Leven Underground and House Jet Radio just to name a few. After getting tired of both the late nights and politics in the scene, he decided it was time to hang up the headphones in the early 2000s, but the love of house music still burned inside of him as the years passed.

In 2013 he decided he wanted to get back into DJ'ing and purchased a basic Pioneer controller and started to collect digital tracks again. Over the past few years Darius has been busy making a name for himself in the underground scene with numerous guest mix appearances around the world on such labels as House Salad, Reason2Funk, Uglyhouse, Little Routine, Selecta Music, Leven Underground and House Jet Radio just to name a few. He also started the very popular "SPEED BUMPS" mix series which showcases his love for hip hop and jazz as he shows his versatility as a DJ by blending mixes of nu jazz, hip hop instrumentals and acid jazz flavours reminiscent of Mark Farina's legendary series, Mushroom Jazz.

Influenced from a young age by music being played through out the family home by his parents and their wide eclectic music tastes. This would lead Barney to discover his love for House Music. From an early age listening to Daft Punks Homework album and as many essential mixes as he could this would start to shape his musical tastes and love for mixing. It wasn’t until a good friend Damien introduced him to the Cosmic Disco compilation Mixed By Derrick Carter. This would change everything from there in a big way! Leading Him to purchase his first set of turntables and study the art of mixing and programming sets.

DJing since they age of fifteen being influenced by the second wave of Chicago DJ’s such as Derrick Carter, Mark Farina, DJ Sneak, Cajmere and DJ Heather. Barney would go on start hosting his own nights and taking in gigs at Ministry Of Sound, The Asturia and Mud Club as well as a Residency at the ever popular Jackin Nights!

Being inspired by producers such as Stacy Kidd, Paul Johnson, Cajmere, Derrick Carter, And Jason Hodges. This would lead Barney to start crafting his own production style with releases on JACKED OUT TRAX, AMMO RECORDINGS, PHUNKY DATA, CHICAGO SKYLINE RECORDS, MODULATE GOES DIGITAL, TRUE HOUSE LA, VINTAGE AVENUE RECORDINGS & CABBIES HAT RECORDINGS.

A chance meeting at 2017 ADE festival with fellow Label artists L!to. This would kick start the birth of their own imprint JACKED OUT TRAX! Since January 2018 Both Barney & L!to have been working on their own label releasing renowned artists such as Doc Link, Filta Freqz, J-Fader, The Stoned, Housego, Maggs Bruchez to name but a few.

Barney continues to hone his production skills continuing on his Jazzy, Deep, Jackin Grooves Disco tip. With remixes for Doc Link, Felipe Avelar, Roberto Parisi and Cabbies Hat Recordings.
