After Sirius, Canopus (also known as Alpha Carinae) is the brightest star visible from Earth. Situated in the southern constellation of Carina, this Type F supergiant was actually THE brightest star in the night-time sky, for 4 million years!
This is because stars move trough Space at dazzling speeds (hundreds km/s), orbiting the galaxy with their satellites.

And so 90.000 years ago, Sirius moved close enough to take it's place and became the brightest star visible. Apparently this situation only lasts a few hundred thousand years, because in 480.000 years, the brightest star visible from Earth will again be Canopus.

This stars produces a huge amount of X-rays, thought to be produced by it's 15 million °Kelvin hot corona. The magnetically induced heath percolates trough the star's layers by convection and fast rotation.

We will travel from it's cooler surface, which is still hot enough to burn your ass, trough each layer till we reach that insanely hot core. Due to the massive X-ray exposure, you will be able to hear and feel the rays entering our Earthly shell and penetrating our soul, which sees it's climax at the very end of the journey...

Enjoy the Techno!!
