Schon mit 15 Jahren unternahm NickOne erste Gehversuche als DJ, damals noch mit Hip Hop.
1993 wechselte sein Sound zu Breakbeat und es folgten Bookings in legendären Clubs der Rhein-Neckar-Region wie Subway & Walzmühle.

Seinen sehr tanzbaren und partytauglichen Mix aus Oldschool Jungle und Jump Up konnte er auch auf weiteren Events wie Royal Rumble, Emotion & Fast&Furious präsentieren.

Seit 2011 ist NickOne oft mit Stagerocka MC als eingespieltes Team unterwegs. Als Residents waren die beiden bei der Radioshow Spinning Time auf Bermudafunk zu hören.

Stagerocka

Bereits seit 1999 ist Stagerocka in Deutschlands Clubs als Drum’n’Bass-MC unterwegs. Er begann mit den DJs Subtek und S.H. Rok und seinem MC Partner Trasher im Weinheimer Café Central öffentlich aufzutreten. Die dortige Veranstaltungsreihe Central Breaks verhalf ihm zu weiteren Bookings, u. a. bei den legendären Logarhythmus-Partys im Mannheimer Jugendzentrum. Er konnte so etliche Kontakte in der Drum’n’Bass Szene der Rhein-Neckar Region knüpfen.

Zusammen mit DJ Cluster, DJ Arsonist und Trasher MC gründete Stagerocka 2001 die Crew „Chamäleon – Different Colors of Drum’n’Bass“ mit dem Ziel, verschiedene Spielarten dieser Musik auf eigenen Veranstaltungen zu präsentieren. Er sammelte auf den Chamäleon Events reichlich Erfahrung und verfeinerte seinen Style weiter.
Inspiriert von der Musik Jamaikas, erweiterte er seine Lyrics immer öfter mit melodiösem Gesang. Wenig später stießen noch die MCs Nameless und Miss Kathy dazu und so bildete sich ein sehr gut aufeinander abgestimmtes MC Team. Leider verstarben Nameless und Kathy im Mai 2003 bei einem Autounfall.

Mit den DJs Arrab und Sativa und dem Producer Bad Answer formierte sich Stagerocka 2003 zur Stagmountain Kru. Der Name leitet sich ab aus dem damaligen Wohnort der Künstler (Stag = engl. Hirsch / Mountain = Berg). Nach mehreren erfolgreichen, selbst organisierten Events und einigen Zu- und Abgängen von Crewmitgliedern führten Bad Answer und Stagerocka die Crew als Zwei-Mann-Band weiter. Die Stagmountain Kru steht heute für einen wilden Mix aus Breakbeats, Funk, Hip-Hop, Jungle und Reggae, immer gewürzt mit einer kräftigen Prise derbem Humor. Die Discographie der Band umfasst mittlerweile ca. 270 Tracks auf 17, im Internet veröffentlichten, LPs und EPs.
Von 2014 bis 2017 war Stagerocka regelmäßig im Rahmen der Spinning Time Show, gehostet von DJ Arsonist, auf dem freien Radio Bermudafunk zu hören.

Seit 2017 ist er Resident MC bei der Bright Soul Music Partyreihe in der Mannheimer KurzBar.
Stagerocka legt bei seinen Performances viel Wert auf Vielseitigkeit und Entertainment. Er begeistert das Publikum mit Reggae & Dancehall beeinflussten Toastings, schnellen Rhymes und Beatboxing. Around 18 years ago I played on this very station with Yencee during a mini German tour with Streetbeats. One of the funniest weeks of my life.
