This will be a single in the not too distant future, after "Romany Days", which a few people have requested as the next single.
The story behind "Waterfall Dance" is that it started out as a practise fingering exercise on the 12 string guitar in the key of G. It started on the 10th fret and runs down the fretboard. Over time, I gradually added a little melodic phrase on the end of it, added some words, and waddayaknow, the cascading 12 string exercise became a song!

‘Indus Rush’ is the brainchild of musician and producer, Stephen Whitby, recorded with session players over the Internet, and mixed down and produced by Steve in his Dalbeattie Studio.

Taken from the forthcoming album ‘From The East Down to The West’, The Market Place/Mandingo are two parts of an unfinished trilogy of songs about Iraq. The Market Place was inspired by Stephen’s experiences in Asia/The Middle East; the music and lyrics painting an atmospheric picture of the Souks and Bazaars and Stephen’s vocals bringing a melancholic longing to the piece. Despite the vast difference in environments and settings, The Market Place is fundamentally about how similar social interactions are across the world in coffee shops from Goa to Glasgow, but it’s Stephen’s time spent travelling that has helped him create his unique perspective on the world.

Stephen has spent the last 30 years travelling across the world and playing with a variety of famous musicians (including Adrian Fisher from Sparks, David Glasper and Ian “Spike” Spice from Breathe, Sparko from Doctor Feelgood and Mathew Kelly of Kingfish & The Grateful Dead) on a glorious beachfront setting called Secret Garden, on Koh Samui, in the Gulf of Thailand. He moved back to Scotland in 2008:

‘Upon returning to Scotland it’s taken a few years to get settled and organised, but now I’m starting to be creative again, and so here are a few songs from over the years, some old, some new, but all of them being relevant in my move from Asia to Scotland, hence “From The East Down to The West.”
