He gained a residency at a nightclub called Venus in Nottingham in 1990 whilst still at university. The night became legendary, and because of this he was booked at events all over the UK, such as Nemesis , Amnesia House , Time , The Eclipse , Dreamscape, Helter Skelter, Obsession, Fantasia, Inter-dance and Perception included Sy on their line-ups. His unique Mixing ability helped to establish his reputation as the “Scratchmaster”.
As well as DJ-ing SY co-owns a studio in Aldershot, Hampshire, and formed his own record label Quosh Records in 1994 with over 100 releases to date.
We asked Sy for a vinyl set from his favourite era and he chose 1988-90 a exciting time in dance music for those who were there first time around .
