<itunes:summary><![CDATA[These pieces represent recent projects exhibiting different generation analog and digital effects processors (Electro-Harmonix; DOD/Digitech, etc.) looped together, based on previous schematics utilized from 1984 - 1995 for various live performances and studio recordings.
All pieces are recorded live, in stereo with minimal or no post-processing.
At some point rack units will be re-introduced into these signal chains incorporating a wider scope of parameters for live manipulation of stereophonic auditory effects.
Previous live performances included quadrophonic, on-site, or site specific outdoor performances focusing on the disintegration of any performer-audience/audience-performer dynamic by encouraging audience participants to walk anywhere they wanted to experience the sounds.
There were no seats, there was no stage, nor tickets sold. Sounds were directed by speakers at specific locations on buildings, between structures, and open fields, yielding a multiplicity of resonant characteristics to experience.
Volume, timbres, loudness, and amplification were therefore open to enhancement, extension, obfuscation, obstruction and filtering by all available elements in the performance landscape, topographical, and atmospheric environments.
Since 1986 "Sonic Boom" has been performed in the dead of Winter with snow drifts and icicles melting in the sun; Spring time rain with all the dangers of electrocution abundantly available but thankfully avoided; and in warm to blazing hot sunny days in concrete quadrangles, and a massive bibliophilic inverted pyramid on a research university campus.
Artistic and sonic art influences included Allan Kaprow; Max Niehaus; Alvin Curran/musica elettronica viva; Bill Fontana; Arseny Mikhailovich Avraamov; David Meyers/Arcane Device; Gen Ken Montgomery/Generator Audio-Art Gallery; Gong; Sun Ra & Arkestra; Jimi Hendrix & Eddie Kramer; Lou Reed & John Cale - Velvet Underground; Leigh Stevens-Blue Cheer; Fred 'Sonic' Smith & Wayne Kramer-MC5; Albert Ayler; Doug Walker/Alien Planetscapes; Doug Henderson/Spongehead Experience
Thank you for listening,
