<itunes:summary><![CDATA[The one-day radio event titled On the margins brings together radio practitioners from different fields of interest and sensibilities, with the aim of creating an alternative radio program far from the informational, entertainment, and commercial formats of mainstream radio. Around ten authors from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, and Austria take part with different sound essays, narrations, soundscapes, and music programs, defining a different radio experience of closeness and attention. Personal stories, spiritual insights, or professional experiences stretch the range of listening and make spatial and temporal boundaries more accessible.
The title On the margins refers to the geographical location of broadcasting, but also to the program profile of KRAK radio, that is, its one-day radio festival. Along with music and human voices, the intention is to offer a wide spectrum of sounds such as noise, echoes, and humming, giving a certain resonance in a contaminated media landscape, and in the context of the overall superficiality of social networks, to slow down time through quiet but strong messages of its authors.
Operating with the technical possibilities of radio as a medium, and shaping the media landscape with the assumption that things can be imagined differently, this session of KRAK radio, besides broadcasting a live radio program, also invites the community to come to the KRAK space and, through their presence, become a co-creator of the spatial experience.
As part of the one-day radio event, a workshop with the same name will be held, which will teach participants the basics of radio communication and production. Within the radio program, there will also be a concert by the Sarajevo performer of experimental music, Nedim Zlatar.]]></itunes:summary>
