Go follow her as she's one to watch this year!

For #037, we welcome producer and DJ - Littlefoot.
Littlefoot has been making UKG and Bassline since around 2007 which has been described as containing "...repeated echoes here of ‘00s-style R&B, but it sounds as if it’s been reconstructed by an AI rather than sampled directly; they’re ghostly robots, warbling yearning ditties." and "UK-garage-derived rhythms are stripped apart and rebuilt in strange new forms, topped off by sad, yearning vocal snippets.. which nag at your emotions long after you’ve heard them." (Joe Muggs, Bandcamp Best Electronic Music of the Month 2020 and 2021).
This mix brings together the recent works, finished productions, some deep dives on Bandcamp, a few obscure vinyl-ripped oldies and just straight bangers from the last months releases from the UKG and Bassline spectrum. Mixing is top draw, selection is on point and you just need to take listen!!

The past 12 months have given me a to think about, and turning 40 in December has also put life into perspective.
We'll see what 2021 brings, but I'm not gonna push it. This mix is nearly 2 hours, and barely scratched the surface of what's out there. Of course, I missed loads I wanted to play, but there you go!

7 months since my last mix, and boy does it feel like a lifetime ago. And it's not for lack of wanting to put one out.
The global pandemic royally fucked us all over, and has meant that I've not been able to get to Pirate Studios until recently. And I will say that I'd been flip-flopping over whether to even bother to put another mix out. I've no idea if I have any relevance in the UKG scene any more (if I ever did!!) but I won't let it put a damper on this.
So here it is, #033 . (Just) over 100 minutes of UKG from the lost time that is 2020. I had a really nice time putting this together, so I hope you all have a listen and shake a leg to it if you're feeling it.

Here is mix number two for 2020, and this time we have an hour of power from @LoProfyl. And it doesn't disappoint!
Hailing from East London Lo Profyl (pronounced Low Profile in case you wondered) is a DJ influenced by various different musical genres (house, soul, breakbeat, funky, bass etc) and although there may be tastes of these genres in his DJ sets, his main focus is his beloved UKG. With some of his own productions in the works Lo Profyl aims to be more active creatively in the future too.
A wicked blend of 4x4 and 2-step UKG (and a splatter of Funky) with a focus on the current sound from producers including Mind Of A Dragon, TuffCulture and Para to name a few! This is definitely a mix worth checking out.

It only seemed right to get another set down with an MC, and this is a first for this current mix series. For #026 I got G Dot Riz into the studio to lay down some bars over an hour of fresh UKG.
Here's what he said when I asked for a bit of background...
"I Love UKG music and have done since I was a teenager, inspired by my good friend MC Easyrider (RIP), so it wasn't too long before I was practising lyrics and then started to take it a bit more seriously. I’ve played out at various events around the south, supporting the likes of DJ Cartier, Matt Jam Lamont, Artful Dodger, Sunship, Rossi B & Luca and I was resident MC at UKGU in Guildford.
I've worked closely with Mr Chimps and have guested on stations such as Deja Vu, Divine, FreshSoundz, UK Raw, Confetti Digital, EmpireLDN to name a few.
I'll be linking up with the NOSA crew this year for a new chapter in music for me."

Unless you've been living under a rock the last few years, you should know who these guys are and the rise they've made through the UKG ranks. With music released on labels such as Downplay (an off-shoot of Bristol-based Slime Recordings), Ultra Bass and Highly Swung they have gained a reputation as providers of quality UK Garage.
The mix includes new and upcoming tracks from Mind Of A Dragon, TuffCulture, Perception, Soulecta and - of course - they're own productions including tracks from their forthcoming EP coming out on Four40 Records (out later this month).
This mix is a perfect way to end 2018.

We are back with a brand-new 60 minute mix from Rocford, who has been pushing the deeper, bumpier side of UKG - closer to the original House and Garage vibe (or should that now be #GarageHouse?).
This is the second mix we've had from a Sub.FM DJ, and Rocford has a show on the 4th Wednesday of every month at 12-2am, which shows how strong the station is with the sound of UKG.
This mix brings us the best of the more soulful-side of UKG, with both new and old school blended perfectly. With the weather as good as it has been this is a perfect addition to your sunshine playlist.

A regular in the South East scene, he hosts a fortnightly show on Cambridge 105 (alternating with DJ Ree) as well as regularly doing live streams from the Hiive Collective HQ. We asked him to provide a bit of information for those that don't know what he's been up to...
Bio
"I started out as a DJ and MC back in 1993 as a young man developing his sound. After some experimentation it was discovered he had real passion and talent for mixing UK Garage and House. Over time this has developed into a more complete portfolio of House, Garage and Bass! My trade mark sound is sexy vocals and banging basslines! I have played at many events and radio stations over the years including: Garage Nation, Twice as Nice and #TEAMUKG"
About the mix
"As always a blend of old and new UK Garage that I’m feeling right now with sexy vocals and banging basslines, every mix is a journey and a story ! I Hope you are feeling this one!"

Bio
"I have been a massive UK Garage fan since the early 90's back in the days when Exposure was in Club Colosseum in Vauxhall. I spent most of my late teens in and around clubs in London and started off raving to the hard house. A friend of mine showed my the UKG arch in Chunnel Club one night in Vauhall and I never looked back, Garage has been my passion ever since. I messed about with vinyl back then but never really mastered the art, then life took over and I didn't get a chance to keep it up. It was only since the year 2014 when I got right back into the game and got myself a little Pioneer controller and started to build a nice following on YouTube. Then it was the task of ripping old vinyl tracks and sourcing a huge library of old classics and upfront fresh bangers. I pride myself on pushing the scene forward and finding up and coming producers, those guys keep me well supplied and always bring the fire."
About the Mix
"This mix was a pleasure to make and starts off quite chilled and bumpy and you will always find a nice collection of well thought out tracks with rolling basslines and sweet vocal cuts in any mix that i publish, I do love that darker side of garage and this mix will show you that too, I am just looking for that breakthrough into the scene now as 40 years have passed and I owe it to the ravers to give them a wicked night!!"

The Sub.FM resident has been holding down his bi-weekly show (every other Saturday, 3-5PM) now since 2010, with it being a staple in any UKG-head's diary. He also had an 'End of 2017' mix out on Pack London - this is one DJ you need to get on a flyer!
Having been a fan of his for years, it's great to have him drop his signature style of UKG, bass and breaks into an hour of power!

I've known Boruch, aka Joe, for a couple of years having first met him at work and if you want a house/techno/disco party then book him. You won't regret it!
With a number of releases and remixes under his belt, he's reached into his bag of tracks and pulled out some gems from the past few years. Really showcasing his taste in all that's good in house & techno.
If you're wondering about the cover background, if you'd seen Boruch's backpack, phone case (and I'm certain T-Shirt) you'd understand!!

#002 - Riddim Delivery

For #002 we have Ray, aka Riddim Delivery. Originally from London but now living in Southampton, we asked him a bit about the mix and what he's done to date...
"The mix starts off slow, building the energy. Casual blending in and out of the tunes. The energy is increased about a 1/3 of the way in with some classic old school garage tracks thrown in. The final 1/3 the tunes get a bit darker and the mixing a bit more experimental; look out for the MJ accapella thrown in for good measure!"
"I started off mixing at about 15 with some absolutely awful belt drives. Back then I was as good at mixing as I was with women (spoiler - I failed to pull off a decent mix or woman). I was completely in love with UKG though, and I still to this day protest that it is a genre like no other. Want a steady warm up - play garage. Want something for the ladies with vocals - play garage. Want an MC to spit of a dirty beat - play garage. There's a tune for every occasion.
Around age 21, life and a career got in the way and the vinyl went in the garage (no pun intended).
Fast forward to about 2 and a half years ago. I got the itch again - some will call it a mid-life crisis. It was different world now though. It was no longer 2 turntables and a mixer. It was controllers, media players, CDJ’s, DVS systems, samplers, FX packs the lot. I started the scary journey into the digital age and I’ve never looked back. I have a decent set up now and half decent abilities to match.
I’m still yet to play to a crowd of more than about 12 people….something I’m hoping to change very soon."
