A completely faithful re-creation of the first ever "mix-tape" I ever heard, back in 1988 when i was 12 years old - consisting of a mix of Hip Hop, Freestyle, Breakbeat, Pop and New Jack Swing. The tape itself is long-gone, but I listened to it an infinite amount of times in my teenage years that I have had the entire thing completely committed to memory.

The tape came from a nightclub in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada called Club Soda. The tape had "Club Soda's Power Jams - DJ ManuMix" written on it - although there's this DJ credit, is not known who this "ManuMix" actually is. My older sister, who obtained the tape from the club, cannot recall who it actually is.

I have spent many years assembling master quality, full length, lossless versions of every track on the tape, and now that I've accumulated all tracks and remixes that were on the tape, I was finally able to do this re-creation of it that I've wanted to do since I lost the original tape.

It is presented *exactly* as it was on the original tape:

-Compiled as "Side 1" and "Side 2", i.e. 2 long continuous files;
-Each 'side' starts and ends exactly as it did on the tape: at the exact middle points in the songs presented, right where the "Record" button would have been pressed and stopped;
**-Every version, edit, mixing point, sample, drop, and scratch is exactly as it was on the original tape...including all aspects of human error in compiling it.**

Main equipment / software used:

-Serato DJ with Vestax VCI-380 controller
-Ableton Live 9

A complete rebuild and remaster of the legendary Hot Tracks 'East-West' Remix, first appearing on Series 3, Issue 1. \

Original remix / extended edit was done by Steve Algozino, Randy Dethman, Rob Kimbel and Aron Siegal, and was sourced from the 'Vocal - Remix' and 'Instrumental - Remix' versions which both are exclusive to this Streetwise Records pressing from 1983: https://www.discogs.com/Eartha-Kitt-Where-Is-My-Man-Remix/release/778889 However the sound quality of their remix was unfortunately lacking...hence why I decided to find a mint copy of the source pressing, do a vinyl tranfer, and completely replicate every section and edit that they did to create their remix for Hot Tracks.

Also obtained the same cat screetching samples used in the intro and outro, which were taken from this rare Disney sound effects record from 1964: https://www.discogs.com/Various-Chilling-Thrilling-Sounds-Of-The-Haunted-House/release/4312246
