A spectral dark ambient music piece, where Gaza's nightly soundscape is replayed as micro/atonal music. I watched a live stream from Gaza, and its contrasting soundscape of war machines, chants and animals disturbed my mind.

The spectral tools I've made in Ableton pick up the four strongest frequencies at positions I've chosen. They are then replayed with musical instruments and effects in 8192 steps / semitone accuracy.

The piece also features an excerpt of a poem The State of Siege by Marwan Darweish.

In this recording a mix of a closeup recording of waves and a mantra sung by a female voice are recreated with four spectral samplers. The rhythm also varies according to the frequencies of the original sounds. One of the sampler holds a sample of a flute, and that is constantly modulated by the original sounds. The sounds are not quantized to a notation system, but they play the frequencies of the original mix as they are.

Every partial of the sound of a wind is mapped to the nearest overtone of a single harmonic series. The fundamentals in this case are defined by a simple cello progression's the three most prominent frequencies, so this is a mix of three harmonic series.
