(Lyrics) They Will Be Called God's People
Words and Music by Leslie (aka Jesse) Hughes ©

CHORUS
God will call them his people who were no his people
And God will call her my loved one who was not his loved one
And it will happen in the very place it was said to them
You are not my people
They will be called sons of the living God

VERSE 1
We maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from observing the law
Is God the God of the Jews only? Is he not God of the Gentiles too?
Yes, of the Gentiles, too, since there is only one God
Who will justify the circumcised by faith
And the uncircumcised through that same faith
So God will show his love to the one called ‘not my loved one’
And God will say to those called ‘not my people’, that ‘you are my people’
And they will say ‘you are my God’

VERSE 2
In those days ten men from all languages and nations
Will take firm hold of one Jew by the hem of his robe and say
‘Let us go with you, because we have heard that the Living God is with you’
And God will take two staffs, and call one Favor and the other Union
And God will pasture the flock
God will rid the land of the shepherds who plot evil against their neighbor
Those who swear falsely and slaughter and oppress the flock
For the Lord God Almighty will administer true justice
Showing mercy and compassion
And rendering sound judgments in his courts
And God will join the sticks of Judah and Joseph into one
Since there is only one God
And it is Jesus who is both the Lord and the Christ
And the Holy Spirit is going to reclaim our loving Lord
In this Promised Land

VERSE 3
God will save his people from the countries of the east and the west
And from the countries of the north and the south
And God will bring them back to live in Jerusalem
And they will be his people
And God will be faithful and righteous to them as their God
Then Jerusalem will be called the City of Truth
And the mountain of the Lord God Almighty will be called the Holy Mountain
For God Almighty will care for his flock
The cornerstone will be the House of Judah
And God will take away the signet rings, gold chains and chariots
Of Joseph and Ephraim when they bow down and worship Pharaoh
When Pharaoh hardens his own heart
And the Pharisees do not go far from the Pharaoh
Where they are praying and calling out O Magog

VERSE 4
The Lord God Almighty will reject the tents of Joseph
And not choose the tribe of Ephraim
For they worship foreign gogs and detestable idols
That they sacrifice to demons, which are not God
Instead God will choose the tribe of Judah, the root of David
Whose scepter of righteousness will not depart
Nor the rulers staff from between his feet
Until tribute belongs to the throne of God Almighty
For God Almighty is overall and forever praise
And the throne of God Almighty endures forever and ever
And from Judah will come the cornerstone
From him the tent peg, from him the battle bow
And from him every ruler
And he will be anointed with the oil of joy
Because the Lord God Almighty is with him, and will fight with him
And together they will overcome the horsemen
Of the Sadducees, Pharisees, Herodians and Nicolaitans

VERSE 5
It is the Lord Jesus who is the Great Shepherd of the sheep
And over the mountains, hills and valleys
Jesus will search for the lost and scattered sheep
And he will rid the land of the shepherds
Who treated them harsh and brutally
And the bound up and bind in the kingdom of this world
The ransomed Lambs and bondservants will be set free
The weakened will be strengthened, and the injured healed
For the Lord God Almighty will save them on that day
And all his flock will be his people
They will sparkle in the land, like jewels upon God Almighty’s crown
And how wonderful and beautiful they will be
When young men thrive upon abundant grain
And young woman flourish on new wine

This song was inspired by the books of Zechariah, Isaiah, Hosea, Psalms, Ezekiel, Romans, and the entire Gospel to the Victory of the Lamb in Revelation.

It was also inspired by the Gospel references cited in my recent song posts:

(Please note also that a Jew and Israelite in a metaphoric interpretation of the Gospel is not a person of Jewish heritage, it is a metaphor for a part of all of us that is a Jew within and another part of us that is a Gentile within -see Romans 2:28-29- and how these two parts become one in Ephesians 2:14-22, Ezekiel 37:15-17 and Romans 3:27-31, also how there are those who are of the synagogue of Satan, who claim to be Jews though they are not, but are liars- see Revelations 3:9.
