This final mix is a long one (some 50 tunes long!) and full of some hard beats, squelchy analog sounds and emerging breakbeat tunes that would go on to develop into hardcore, jungle and drum'n'bass. In addition the output of Belgian R&S records also features heavily in this mix. It would be wrong to not mention the influence of Warp records in 1990 with tracks like LFO and Tricky Disco taking techno music to a new set of people, the emergence of Europe as the sound of techno was transformed in 1990, but Detroit still had a few tricks up their sleeves, the emergence of Carl Craig as a producer and Suburban Knight's 'Art of Stalking' has been a track i've played consistently for the last 30 years.
Noteable mentions must go to Ron Trent - 'Altered States' is a genuine all DJ classic (and he was 17 years old), hat off to Frank De Wulf - Grade A level output. What a great time I have had recording these mixes - long live house!]]>

From a collection of DJ mixes recording for posterity some of the rave and club sounds of the late 80's and early (very) 90's. Going out at this time was so special and yet seems so long ago, a warm and sunny year, 1990 saw an further explosion of club culture right aross Europe, with tunes and productions from all over the continent to complement the massive output from the states and the UK

This mix features some great tunes, some of my favourites are Lil Louis' - Blackout, DJ's Rule - Get into the Music and the C&C production work of Seduction's Groove Me - but plenty of unsung gems here too - enjoy - Part 5 coming straight up too!]]>
From a collection of DJ mixes recording for posterity some of the rave and club sounds of the late 80's and early (very) 90's. Going out at this time was so special and yet seems so long ago, a warm and sunny year, 1990 saw an further explosion of club culture right aross Europe, with tunes and productions from all over the continent to complement the massive output from the states and the UK

1988 was the year House really took off in the UK (of course loads of DJ's including my big brother had been playing and buying house tunes before 1988, and some of the best come before this year) and crossed over. This mix is over 2 hours long and features some incredible tunes too many to tell a story about them all, but some of my favourite acid tracks - 'Hot hands', 'Slo Mo Acid', 'We are Phuture' plus gems that have stayed in my playlist for years - 'This is Acid' and 'It is what it is'.
