Rustington, United Kingdom

I bought my first 1210 in 1987. Oddly i didn't get the second until the year after, making mixing somewhat difficult.

I was a avid clubber from the early 80's with my original loves being New Wave, Soul, Funk, Disco and pretty much anything that appealed to me (like Cocteau Twins, Dead can Dance etc).

I really got into the dance side of music around 87 with electro, then early house music thanks to trips to New York with my work. From '88 I was a prolific purchaser of vinyl. I had various DJ work around this period up to the early 90's when I sort of fell out of love with the scene. There was still music I loved out there, but it seemed to be drowned out by the commercial side of dance and the "mega club/celeb DJ" mentality. About 8 years ago I really started to connect with the music again and began to purchase vinyl once more.

Since then I've built up a collection of things that I love from old soul and disco, to new "balearic" and downtempo sounds.

I've never sold my decks and still have the same 1210's I always had, but have been through a number of mixers and had the decks rebuilt :) Vinyl is still my passion and I guess my musical style could be labeled (as much as I hate to do so) as Balearic - in the sense than as long as i think a tune works, I'll play it irrespective of the genre.

I plan on building up a collection of mixes on here showcasing the kind of sounds I love and how i like to select them. Some will be traditionally mixed, some simply played in their entirety. Depends on my mood that day ;)

Feel free to follow and/or comment on anything you like (or dislike) and I'm happy to let you know what a tune is if you hear one you like.

Thanks for reading this somewhat lengthy nonsense.
