now here is another gem recovered from our archives - a selection of speaker for the dead original music that was compiled in the form of mix in the course of participation to the cfront2000 international art event which was held in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, where he took part as a representative of CoRRoSioN in june 2000, along with his friends and collaborators from Striper and O.U.R. Pictures, in a period we worked under ZADRUGA (COOP) name, prior to creating kosmoplovci, less than two years later. this mix was also part of his internet radio broadcast. yes, in year 2000.

on the visual side, this was a rough direct-to-vhs mix made out of realtime computer demo art from local serbian demogroups, including work from corrosion, pas maters, mudonje, iq2000, mindnever, industry and mad virgin, accompanied with some works from international demoscene groups like tpolm, nerve axis, hellcore, pulse, embassy, da jormas, matrix, suburban and c-lous.

on the music side, this mix was a first attempt of creating a specific speaker for the dead album, which unfortunately never came to be released, most likely because at that time he was already entering into more advanced audio production, with realtime modular synth systems like Buzz and music production tools like Sound Forge and Vegas, along with early VSTs, and since all these tracks are actually made in amiga multichannel trackers, during the second half of the 1990's, they were kinda already 'old' for him to be released as new work...

some of these tunes were released in forthcoming years as part of various kosmoplovci audio and video releases, but most of them are still not released in any form (so far), so there is plenty of unknown and previously unheard stuff in here to listen. video release uses part of this mix, to fit in 1 hour, however full mix contains additional ~15 minutes of music (3 tracks) and is also in better quality than vhs recording, so here it is in full length and effect.

and yes, speaker for the dead is preparing a new album, so take this as another reminder of how long he worked and still works in the field of dark ambient idm electronic music, uncompromisingly creating original music out of his soul and emotion.

for this thematic event named 'darkside' i've decided to present an appropriate time travel experience, opening and closing with some legendary tracks from the early beginnings of drum'n'bass in the late 90s and early 2000s, mixing them intentionally with tracks from both new and old dnb headz without chronological order to emphasize timeless value of the music, as well as diversity of forward thinking authors and their different styles, blending both past and present in the same universal story of struggle through darkness in the search for the light. as with each of my live club mixes, special bonus surprise for this one comes in the form of unreleased classic track from fellow CODEX crew, which was one of the highlights on the dancefloor, but certainly not the only one. special treat has also been given to Section 63 with a selection of recent techno-dnb gems created by no other than Dave from the legendary The Sect crew. voyage ends with another of my all-time dnb favourites - Keaton & Nitrox's Venom.

here is another of my recent live dnb sets, yet another fine blend of both old and new, classic and fresh drum'n'bass that feeds my soul, performed live at small but cozy event hosted by belgrade'n'bass on one thursday evening in belgrade.

since dj softwave crashed during set, only first 31 minutes were recorded, however because it was a nice set i was a bit sad that i cannot present this music selection outside of the event, so i've decided to reconstruct the mix up to its full length and here it is - 51% recorded live + 49% reconstruction based on playlist.

this video is the first one fully made on my linux desktop setup. upper part comes from minimeters, lower part comes from strawberry player, while main background vis comes from butterchurn viz, an opensource webgl implementation of milkdrop 2 visualizer you can also check and use at https://butterchurnviz.com

jos jedno lepo muzicko-aktivisticko vece proslo je prilicno lagano i opusteno uz sirok dijapazon muzike, starog, novog, domaceg, stranog, izdatog, neizdatog... koje smo ovaj put proka i ja pustali u blokovima od po sat vremena, tako da vam sa ove zurke predstavljam ne jedan nego dva miksa, prvi koji sam pustao od 21-22, drugi koji je isao od 23 do pred ponoc, pa smo onda bacali malo b2b.

u prvom miksu slusamo breakbeat, dubstep i drum'n'bass zvuke 90tih i 2000tih, dok je drugi miks fokusiran na noviju produkciju koja se uglavnom svrstava u neki od stilova drum'n'bass zanra. sem poznatih imena, tu je dosta i manje poznatih ali nista manje kvalitetnih autora sa elektronske, dj i demo scene. neke od traka su direktno preuzete iz demoa, neke su nase ili nasih lokalnih kolega, a sve su ovde prikupljene i slozene u jos jedan od zvucnih ehoa mog zivotnog iskustva kao jednog od pionira kompjuterske elektronske muzike i svedoka razvoja i evolucije muzike i tehnologije kroz 40 godina koje su nam svima promenile zivot otkad su nam omogucile da stvaramo svoje nove svetove iz sopstvene spavace sobe.

u prvom miksu slusamo breakbeat, dubstep i drum'n'bass zvuke 90tih i 2000tih, dok je drugi miks fokusiran na noviju produkciju koja se uglavnom svrstava u neki od stilova drum'n'bass zanra. sem poznatih imena, tu je dosta i manje poznatih ali nista manje kvalitetnih autora sa elektronske, dj i demo scene. neke od traka su direktno preuzete iz demoa, neke su nase ili nasih lokalnih kolega, a sve su ovde prikupljene i slozene u jos jedan od zvucnih ehoa mog zivotnog iskustva kao jednog od pionira kompjuterske elektronske muzike i svedoka razvoja i evolucije muzike i tehnologije kroz 40 godina koje su nam svima promenile zivot otkad su nam omogucile da stvaramo svoje nove svetove iz sopstvene spavace sobe.

phase i ja smo pustali muziku na dobrotvornom popodnevnom matineu za podrsku prosvetarima i studentima koji se odrzao 19.4. u kcgrad, a ja sam svoje delove snimio i spojio u jedan snimak koji je ova rekonstrukcija, sastavljena od 5 snimljenih segmenata izmedju kojih je pustao phase, ali njegovi delovi na zalost nisu snimljeni. obzirom da sam pustao puno raznovrsne i interesantne muzike koju cete retko gde cuti, odlucio sam da snimljeni materijal spojim u jedan miks, u kome se na kraju ukupno nalazi nesto preko dva i po sata muzike koja se slusala ta 4 sata, od 16 do 20 i kusur. kazu ljudi da je bio dobar vajb, pa eto, uzivajte i vi u snimku sa jednog opustenog suncanog popodneva sa nama za dj pultom ;) vidimo se ponovo na slicnom dogadjaju 10.5. od 20h u klubu ljubimac, ovaj put sa prokom, jos jednim veteranom lokalne dj scene.

Ed Rush & Optical, and especially their period around year 2000 for me were and still are legendary times, during which they created two forever classic dnb albums - Wormhole (1998) and The Creeps (2000). The second one (The Creeps) may be less popular than the first one, but i love it just the same, and every time i hear Ryme Tyme my heart starts to dance, along with the rest of my body which must follow :) So, i randomly bumped on Resurrection (a title track) and decided to make a quick mix of complete album, since i would be listening to it anyway, and that is how i made this mini mix with all 11 tracks from the album (CD version) included. hope you will enjoy it too.

i dedicate this mix to all hypocritical 'world leaders' who made this planet such a mess - 'The Creeps', and i also name this mix with opening song from the album 'Resurrection' - which is my message to all of them that we are still here and will not stand down watching them enslave us once again. we will fight back, and we will continue to sing our war songs, not theirs!

i was unhappy that one my rare live dj performances which took place at drip'n'bass 2 event in october 2023 was not recorded, as i heard because of some 'technical' issues, so a lot of my original tunes i presented there to the public are not available to listen for anyone other than those who were at my early slot at the event, so i decided to recreate the mix from the playlists that were saved, choosing daw approach rather than live mix for this project. it will not try to be exact match of the live performance, but it will be rebuilt with all the music from the event and in the same order, resulting with a valuable insight into rndom's takes on original electronic music, not shying away from experimental, downbeat, idm and even ambient. while focusing on his recent output, it also contains some older classics and other less known pieces that found their place into this story, ending up with a lot of unreleased music (or dubs if you prefer) in the mix (half of it!). the tracks that are released are available for digital download from our bandcamp pages, mostly for free. check for detailed information and links further bellow.

i was unhappy that one my rare live dj performances which took place at drip'n'bass 2 event in october 2023 was not recorded, as i heard because of some 'technical' issues, so a lot of my original tunes i presented there to the public are not available to listen for anyone other than those who were at my early slot at the event, so i decided to recreate the mix from the playlists that were saved, choosing daw approach rather than live mix for this project. it will not try to be exact match of the live performance, but it will be rebuilt with all the music from the event and in the same order, resulting with a valuable insight into rndom's takes on original electronic music, not shying away from experimental, downbeat, idm and even ambient. while focusing on his recent output, it also contains some older classics and other less known pieces that found their place into this story, ending up with a lot of unreleased music (or dubs if you prefer) in the mix (half of it!). the tracks that are released are available for digital download from our bandcamp pages, mostly for free. check for detailed information and links further bellow.
