Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/album/2hPQdBRTkYeeHObK6izLJB

With his album „Obi Thine Xi“ due in late summer 2021, Rico Puestel delivers an early and tasteful tempting with the pre-single „LAPS“ joined by three absolutely sharp remixes on 180 grams heavyweight and plain white vinyl, figuratively representing the untouched canvas.

With the aspiration of creating a diverse spectrum of prime Techno music currents, the original album track „LAPS“, a well-proven yet augmented Puestel'ish stomper of 10 Minutes that prompts reminiscences to his latest EPs on Cocoon Recordings, is given further touches by scene freshman „BOWMN“ from the UK, the indubitable Dutch legend „Secret Cinema“ and the unique German sound aesthete, overall creative mind, painter and winemaker „Florian Hollerith“ from the beautiful Palatinate.

Following the pre-album presentation of „LAPS“, BOWMN dives into the realms of pure melodic Techno bliss with a genuine nostalgic yet onward feeling which experiences a sophisticated definition throughout his massive interpretation. If there's one way to know if you're in the good old days before you've actually left them – this is it!

On the flip-side, the one, the only and the legendary Secret Cinema constructs a well-driven and tight top class production work with his groovy expanded remix work of LAPS that might come along as some track that gives you some kind of timeless attitude.

Closing the „LAPS“ journey, Florian Hollerith serves up a highly elaborated next level remix that already defines a future of Techno music that might hasn't come yet while perfectly balancing unearthed highs with some deeply grounded depths of electronic music creation.

An overall highly harmonious and keen record that will bring you through early and mid summer 2021 until the forthcoming album „Obi Thine Xi“ sees the light of day...

One town, three times of the day, a triarchy of Techno music, rolling into the deep – coming as green marbled vinyl with an exclusively designed festival wristband!
Rico Puestel rears a monument to his growing-up-town „Uslar“ with three different approaches on this second part of the home-loving „Solling“ series that dig deep into a downscaled and natural framework of sound (all recorded and produced right at that place).

The initiation ritual on A1 with Uslar at 6'23 in the morning starts off with an actual electric guitar theme, originally recorded back in 2003, that builds the foundation hub to one crisp and point-blank Techno-Electro ceremony. The clean minimalistic sound will showcase all the details of any structure within while one's certainly getting caught by the overall force of melodic attraction like the sun working its path through the misty valleys.

At 13'35 noon, a rising rhythmical and progressive interpretation of the initial morning sounds makes an appearance on the flipside that doesn't allow much time to leap right into the centre of the da(y)nce, immediately creating the guesswork where side AA is leading all along.
The evening hours at 21'55 then take a flying leap into the mystical peak of the whole process, taking the morning sounds from side A into some uneasy realms and sceneries, prevailed by an almost voodoo-like momentum and a dance into the depths of its surrounding woods that will coherently dignify 90's loop Techno par excellence.

This fourth record on Exhibition is and feels right here and right now, paying tribute to the past and many different streams of Techno while cherishing a future that has yet to be written, celebrating the speciality of Techno music itself...

KOMPAKT: https://kompakt.fm/releases/heptakaideka

RICO PUESTEL debuts on his TIME IN THE SPECIAL PRACTICE OF RELATIVITY label with a mind-boggling journey of 41 minutes — split in two parts to fit on vinyl! HEPTAKAIDEKA is what it won't be and will be what it never was: Something from in-between worlds, a place beyond far beyond, where time dissolves into relativity...

Every modern electronic music presenter should be able to find joyful, elevated, convulsing or simply useful moments within the extent of this track that is designed to have its inherent connecting factors and starting points in place for every DJ set — letting it be just a few minutes, well-placed groove looping or bigger amounts of its entirety for diving into a long night, bringing it to an end or making it standing out in-between.

Starting off with a hazy half-grasp hint of what's to come, a mysteriously pervasive bionic loop emerges, slowly coalescing with a bone-dry groove on the rise. Taking up a first quadrant of the track, already gnawing into the long-term memory, it manages to gradually establish itself along the pathway while the "rhythmatics" endure some subtle layer-shifting with occult-like strings come sliding in from somewhere unknown like an admonitory subtext.

Being halfway through (and all the way in), everything smoothly crumbles down to its basic framework, still shaking off its own reminiscences while foregone vestiges almost perilously try to reassemble themselves. All of that leading to a clearly unforeseen yet fortunate drift into a 1980's-like synth peak time section after about 27 minutes being in that track, finally cherishing an evolving emotional felicity and the climax of its own being that tends to feel like an overarching salvation.

As everything being eventually finite, the track starts to bring to mind where it came from by assuredly falling back into a story told before with the well-established bionic loop that once used to run free, sounding somehow different and more tamed now. Ending with dignity, the consistently resurfaced admonitory strings lead the way to its conclusion and possibly new beginnings, solely leaving behind the heartbeat-like booming that carried it all, now fading away...

Coming into existence during a series of multiple productions of exuberant proportions with Rico making the studio his citadel-like stronghold, this is an extensive story of desires, instincts, pride, fall, mirth, solicitude, tension, détente and basically life itself while subtly yet versatilely entertaining on a dodgy yet accessible level throughout the wingspread of Techno, House, Minimal, Dub, Electronica and Ambient influences.

The CD version not only brings you the title track in the guise of its non-split completeness but eminently churns out the extra drumming dub treat DEKAEPTA for a pleasurable groove-delight as well as the trippy bonus beauty VOSEM' that transits as a precious component of infinity.
The CD version not only brings you the title track in the guise of its non-split completeness but eminently churns out the extra drumming dub treat DEKAEPTA for a pleasurable groove-delight as well as the trippy bonus beauty VOSEM' that transits as a precious component of infinity.

Finally being back on his Exhibition imprint, Rico Puestel - without any detours - delivers some intensively uplifting moods within two melodic exhibits that have been circulating here and there over two years now. After ongoing requests about those tracks, these two ultimately join forces and go public on a hand-painted flip design, making this record a wholesome experience again.

Side A discovers the emotional magnitude, circulating and growing around the beauty of redundancy throughout a deeply immersive flute loop, nestled into a bouncing, analogue, almost archaic drum computer setting. Slowly building up over the course of half the track, Exhibit 3.1 emerges into a sphere of multi-layered synth harmonies and an oldschool bass arpeggio.

On the flipside, things suddenly become clear that Side A has just been the build-up to something even larger and stronger: A mechanical marrow-and-bone drum groove (one might not hear everyday) stomps away to spread the bed for one of Rico's possibly most captivating and flourishing synth melodies, spreading some blurry mysteries and clear sun-drenched bliss at the same time.

A vast scenery, unfurling in front of your ears and eyes, almost like smelling blossoms and fresh air within and around the music itself...

Planned and intended to come into existence for almost 15 years now, Puestels' ‘Exhibition’ imprint combines the intrinsic exposure of his artistic repertoire, the vast unreleased material from his vault back stock and the visual artistic streak of exclusively crafted paintings for each record, providing a dignified completeness of art and a general haptic experience. ‘Exhibition’ represents Rico throughout the realms of his widespread techno modes, enriched with his in-depth compositional pathos to form a force of an unbound essence and unbridled passion, paving the way for consecutive exhibits throughout the realms of ‘Exhibition’.

Rico Puestel is a phenomenon and currently one of the best artists around when it comes to solid,
discerning techno. That's techno that takes no detours, doesn't hide behind vocal samples or need
unnecessary, pseudo-intelligent tinkering to get the listeners' attention.

Puestel's two current Cocoon contributions "Equity" and "Immunised" are strongly reminiscent of
"Caravel", which he also released on Cocoon Recordings almost exactly a year ago. The mini breaks
and prolonged dramatic pauses are all pieces in the puzzle of Puestel's arrangement and together with
the hypnotic beats and constantly radiating synths and effects, they make up his own interpretation of
techno sound. It buzzes, it shines and with the right PA it's exactly the type of vibe that help us forget
the daily grind of dance music madness! That ubiquitous "Let The Bass Kick" sample hasn't felt so at
home for a long time!

Although Rico Puestel has been producing since 2005, he still seems to be something of an insider tip. Since “Caravel” though, his August release on Cocoon Recordings, things have taken a dramatic turn with Puestel currently enjoying “man of the moment” status, especially when it comes to progressive techno and peak time action on the dance floor. "973″ picks up exactly where “Caravel” left off, kicking powerfully with irresistable, effect-loaded breaks that really twist your melon. This one really works you over but there’s also feeling and a touch of elegance, in fact we can’t remember hearing anything like this since Len Faki’s Dustin Zahn Remix! “973″ proves that “Caravel” was no flash in the pan, just one tantalising glimpse into the musical world of Rico Puestel and that’s not the end of it… "272″ is a little more stripped down and chilled to start with, but soon opens up into the same crazy atmosphere as “973″. This is dominated by an up-and-running arpeggio synth, which combines with the now familiar effects-break motif to create an incredible hypnotic effect. A little less brutal than “973″ but drenched in more reverb, “272″ is something like “kicking Deep Techno” with a nod to the Tech House corner in the style of Mark Broom or Joris Voorn. Mr. Puestel serves up two choice cuts here and there’s no question that 973272 will be with us for a while. Buckle up, hold tight and off we go!

Cocoon head Sven Väth himself is dropping “Caravel” for quite some time already and the godfather of German techno smashes floors around the globe with this hot and dirty bombshell. Take all of the rocking techno ingredients that you loved so much over the last decade and you get a melt down of Dustin Zahn, Industrial Strength Soundhack and many more milestones to name… however Puestel created a very unique own style out of all these influences and the result is simply outstanding. Sven played the acetate of this so often that we even had to cut a second one. Techno-trainspotter worldwide went mad for this one and were killing us with their requests and track-ID inquiries. The wait is over guys! “Caravel” and “Est” (on the flipside) are two cutting edge techno monsters that hold enough energy to power your car, your computer, your phone, your life…we cannot imagine what Rico will show us next ;)

"If I'd Care More" by Rico Puestel is perfectly set in the tracklisting on position 6 as is turns out this one is something like the "all-embracing track" on Q: Puestel unites in his contribution the different approaches and lines of the other pieces and delivers the secret title track of the compilation. Here you can find dry and kicking beats, dreamy melody parts, but also hypnotic basslines and lots of crazy sounds in the arrangement. Exactly like the overall vibe of Q this one can’t described as "futuristic" and certainly not "oldskool" - it is simply timeless! Puestel brings the essence of Q to the point and this track alone makes us confident that there will an issue R following next year...

A desert consists of totally diverse particles - not one is equal and all are changing constantly. “Savanguard“ is like a desert, inspired by the difference of sounds. The first long-player of Rico Puestel stands for his early experience in music and his versatile taste which grew over the years.

Jazz elements in “You Were Here“, winding synths in “Van Ferry“ which remind us of the golden 80’s and a pop attitude in “Volute“ - the whole album is one large-scale sound research and all particles are matching within completely different tracks. Vocals are used sparely and there's no rigid focus on the club scene. “Savanguard“ is an adventure, it tells a story with many breaks and changes in its plot while some tracks remind you of the good old times, when electronic music was built in a small studio with equipment stacked up to the ceiling.

These songs like “Ubiquitous Ropes“ and “The Third Part Of The Moon“ are build organically and analogically with details so clear and genuine. A desert can be warm and cold, it can be dusty and clear - there are small elements building one big thing and “Savanguard“ is exactly like this: Entirely changing with every replay.

Summertime...

It's summertime, it's an awesome life,
Attracting all the curves with an open mind,
We're far away from those who go astray,
And we start to find our own way,
When summer comes around.

Every second feels so great when the sun in us is beating,
It comes around with all the luck, feel the sun rays treading,
My mind is changed forever as the sun takes the bad away,
I want this feeling to stay.

The sun lifts up our mood, it's so far from prude,
Big-bang everyday, we're gonna be allright,
Ok, ok, all right. All right, all right, all right,
Ok, ok. This summer really feels great!

The sun floods our veins, breaking all the chains,
Let it spring everyday, we're gonna be all right,
Ok, ok, all right. All right, all right, all right,
Ok, ok. The sun really shines great!
...it's always summertime.

It's summertime, it's an awesome life,
Attracting all the curves with an open mind,
We're far away from those who go astray,
And we start to find our own way.
It's summertime, it's an awesome life,
Attracting all the curves with an open mind,
We're far away from those who go astray,
And we start to find our own way,

All right. All right, all right, all right,

The sun lifts up our mood, it's so far from prude,
Big-bang everyday, we're gonna be allright,
Ok, ok, all right. All right, all right, all right,
Ok, ok. This summer really feels great!

All right. All right, all right, all right,

In 1995, the year I turned 9, my life and soul were governed by extensive episodes of sadness, neuroses, depressions, social and mental isolation, recurring thoughts about the self-determined ending, exogenous incomprehensions, misinterpretations and mind-maiming pressure.
Fortunately, music was my anchor, companion, elixir of vigor and hope.

First and foremost, I listenend to all kinds of music awakening my affection, practised on the piano and occasionally composed intimate impromptus.
Regarding my consumption of music, some artists, albums and songs occupied a special position back then and they never lost it for me. Take, for example, Snow's "12 Inches Of Snow", the "Invisible Touch" album by Genesis, "Radioaktivitaet" and "Die Mensch-Maschine" by Kraftwerk, "The Carnival of the Animals" by Camille Saint-Saëns or "Charlottenburg" and "Old School Hardcore" by Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo. Remember these last two? Absolutely rudimentary and commercial-driven craftings that could somehow only happen during that time and might be considered as some sort of strange "pop art" from the present-day perspective.
Track 12 from "Charlottenburg", named "Ooh Massive", happened to be this one full-blown act of stimulation and vitalisation for me - just like "Descontrolla", "Rebel" or "Live At London" but furthermore housing this unique sense of urge and desire. Pure and genuine affection.

All these personal associations and memories purely in speech and writing are not my cup of tea here, but music itself does the trick!
That's why I crafted this particular remake "1995", capturing "Ooh Massive" by Roelofs and Nabuurs, keeping the past alive and remembering what kept me alive.

Yours sincerely,
Regarding my consumption of music, some artists, albums and songs occupied a special position back then and they never lost it for me.

Yours sincerely,
Fortunately, music was my anchor, companion, elixir of vigor and hope.

"After most extensive strains and struggles, the once mighty Shambaluu moulders into an innumerable welter of moths, resting in silence behind the opaque curtain, in the hall of obscurity. Without any vein of illumination, you're finding yourself in the centre of this vast and daunting hall, stone-still of suspense and the touch of fear, suddenly becoming aware of all former sacrifices, the agony and withal the peculiar beauty of this moment while, slowly but surely, drifting back into the fluid darkness of a vague future."
Some of you might also know this one from my recent podcast for SOSO [https://soundcloud.com/soso-hamburg/soso-podcast06-by-rico-puestel].
Feel free to share it, leave comments or order yourself a lovely 180g vinyl copy. It'd be highly appreciated!
Selection of feedbacks on YE MIGHTY SHAMBALUU:

Oliver Schories (SOSO): “A1 & A2 sind die Übertracks. Top Mann, weiter so! :)))”

Luciano (Cadenza): “Downloading for Luciano. Thanks for the music”

Marc DePulse (Noir Music/Ostwind Records): “Der unaussprechliche Track [Sinensisyphean] ist genau meiner! :-)”

Markus Kavka (Katermukke/Harry Klein Club/MTV): “wow, konzept-house! erzählt aber in der tat eine schöne geschichte, die EP. aber klar, alles, was rico macht, ist top. spiel ich!”

Alec Troniq (IPOLY): “It's 8 o clock in the morning and I really like what I hear! These tracks have psychedelic and meditative, but still positive, bright and friendly touch. I love every single work of this EP, Rico is telling stories again!”

Wankelmut (Seelensauna): “Good stuff - thanks!”

Animal Trainer (Hive Audio/Stil Vor Talent/Katermukke): “WoW..this EP is full of challenging music... Just luv'in "The Esquire"”

Daniel Nitsch / The Glitz (Voltage Musique): “Great spheric music!”
