Profile description of Restless Natives Recordings:

Restless Natives is an independent Drum & Bass label established in 2004 by Scotland's DJ KID. The label's early releases came from DJ Kryptik and DJ Samurai, both of whom were studying at Edinburgh University at the time and would eventually go on to join forces in the studio and collaborate under the guise of DC Breaks for some of the label most successful tracks, including 'Do You Believe' and 'Emperor'.

Since its launch, Restless Natives has seen 11 vinyl releases, most notably the first three from DC Breaks, who would eventually sign to ANDY C's RAM Records, where they would become one of the most prolific production outfits in the Drum & Bass scene. DJ KID's support and direction played an integral part in DC Breaks early development, including getting them noticed in the industry.

The last release on the label was way back in 2011 and featured two heavyweight remixes by DJ Original Sin of DC Breaks' Emperor'. The label received widespread support over the years from club and radio DJs. The likes of legendary BBC Radio 1 DJ John Peel, Zane Lowe and many of the Drum & Bass scenes DJs, including FABIO & GROOVERIDER, Simon Bassline, DJ BRYAN GEE and Nicky Blackmarket, all played a part in spreading the Restless Natives sound.

Fast forward to 2023, and the label is primed and ready for an onslaught of releases from established and up-and-coming talent. The label has been out of the loop for some time, but DJ KID is determined to solidify 'Restless Natives' reputation and place within Drum & Bass music, however long it takes. Re-launching in 2024.
