I have had this cool library of a Ravenscroft piano for a while now but have not really explored it yet. Tonight I decided to take it for a spin. Every note is crystal clear to me. It was inspiring. I am a bassist, not a classical pianist, so don't expect razzle dazzle....just sounds. ☺

We had most excellent fun writing this song together. Musically we think a lot alike so we are like two birds of a feather, so to speak. The title is derived from the adage: "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush." Our response to that is well then two birds in the hand must be awesome.

Charles: Piano, guitars, celeste, synthesizers, crescendo low brass/trumpets and orchestral percussion

Ray: Electric bass, drum arrangement, woodwinds, strings, choir, other brass and mix/mastering

Most of my songs end up being instrumentals. When I was writing this one it hit me that it may be a candidate for vocals. Plus I was having so much fun with it I decided to stop early and share the fun with a collaborator. The clever and masterly Phil McWalter (https://soundcloud.com/phil-mcwalter) says we should do another song together. I sent him this one and he disappears into his secret laboratory with it. Not sure what he does in there but I am pretty sure that it involves chemical separations and nuclear particle acceleration. Anyway, he emerged with this masterpiece and I was oh so impressed. I listen and can't believe that I had anything to do with my own song. Now it is our song. Enjoy Phil's clever and artistic work with my music.
Can You Hear Me?

I’m wondering how we never met
Wandering here should have put us close
As close as we’ll get (close as we’ll get)
And we never touch, we never talk
We never look, we'll never walk yet
The mountains are all around us
Seas surround us but
The mist, it's in our eyes
Can you hear me?
