Australia has produced its fair share of quality DJs over the years, but few have the all- round respect of the entire dance music community that Scott Walker has on his side. Walker’s reputation has been built over 20 years behind the decks, and also in part due to his knowledge and support of dance music and its history. He is one of a rare breed of DJ’s that has been able to master and play out a number of genres throughout his career.

Walker’s early days saw him as an avid raver partying every week in Brisbane and Gold Coast’s infamous 90’s dance scene. This led onto purchasing his first set of decks in 1998 which in turn saw him quickly earn a reputation for playing quality house, rave and trance. The turn-of-the-century came and Walker’s tastes diverged as he dived deeper into progressive house, tribal and tech-funk breaks. All the while indulging a long love affair with the foundations of house and techno – which is where his focus is today. This rich musical history is what makes Scott such a versatile and respected DJ.

Scott’s career has continued on a rapid upward trajectory, with his unique sound capturing the imagination of dancefloors all over Australia from Melbourne to Sydney, Canberra to Cairns, and even into Asia with tours taking in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia. Over the years Walker has supported a literal who’s who of dance music spanning the genre divide..

Speaking of festivals, he’s a staple fav appearing in Brisbane at Creamfields, Global Gathering, Stereosonic, Future Music Festival, We Love Sounds, Earthcore, Gatecrasher, Godskitchen, Global Underground, Slinky and on the Gold Coast at Big Day Out, Summafieldayze and Good Vibrations.

Not just a DJ, Walker is an accomplished event promoter in his own right having had one of the longest running underground club nights in Brisbane “DROP” which ran for 12 years. Walker also runs a 90’s old school night “Candee Flip” which is into its 15th year and he co-promoted “Auditree” for its first couple of years.

All of which would count for nothing if he didn’t have the skills behind the decks to back up his CV, and there aren’t many DJs in Brisbane with Walker’s party-rocking abilities. His technical skills perfectly complement his intuitive track selection whilst his floor filling abilities are peerless. Whether the consummate professional when being handpicked to perform that critical warmup slot for the big international guest in town, or when unleashing dancefloor hell during a closing main room slamfest, Scott Walker is Brisbane clubland’s reliable go-to man
