The venue had no turntables so this set didn't get no light which was a shame. I had my De La kicks ready, my 3 Feet High & Rising Tee and a few De La vinyls to show off on the day. Inspired by Public Enemy’s Fear Of A Black Planet tour this month, myself and my crew went to see them in Birmingham and what a show it was. A powerful performance by one of rap’s greatest groups from the 80’s and still can out do any show of today if you ask me. Never a dull moment when Chuck D, Flavor Flav and the rest of the posse is on stage performing classic tracks from the 1989 album “Fear Of A Black Planet”, also joints from “Yo! Bum Rush The Show”, “It Take’s A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back” and others joints from some their albums, you just had to be there. I was so amped up by their show I had to do a mixtape, nothing but Public Enemy was rocking on my iPhone. Big Shout out to Flavor Flav who signed my book (Flavor Flav, The Icon: The Memoir) to me and my lady, also EMD, Big P (and Raise) of my crew A Few Good Men who was at the P.E. gig that night. J. Rocc (founder of the California turntablists DJ group The Beat Junkies) is one of the dopest DJ’s on the planet to have ever rock the turntables. He began DJing in the mid-'80s with a California group named PSK. Soon after forming, the Beat Junkies became a seminal force in the rise of instrumental hip-hop, including core member Babu plus future stars Shortkut and D-Styles. In addition to numerous mixtapes and his own production for Stones Throw releases, J. Rocc has been the DJ for Madlib's live shows since the early 2000's, was the 3rd member of Jaylib (Madlib & J Dilla) during the group's live events, and collaborated with Madlib on Beat Konducta Vol. 5-6: A Tribute to J Dilla.]]>

This mixtape is the revelation of what has become a closely guarded secret. Music created between 1999-2004 either produced by or featuring Kenny Dust aka Phonom P. This never really saw the light of day cos as a perfectionist, Kenny was never happy with it. He was always hearing room for improvement especially from a technical standpoint. At this point he lived in the studio, namely Raw Material Music & Media based in King’s Cross, London. That’s where He first learned how to make beats using Cubase on an old Atari computer and an AKAI S950. He was taught mainly by Storm and D.A. Tones. Raw Material was real creative hub where He met and worked with so many talented people. You could walk in at any time and bump into artists-MCs, producers, DJs, film-makers etc. In hindsight, Kenny is able to love and appreciate music with new perspective.
