Profile description of Prophet218:

Prophet is an artist that can't easily be summed up with labels. He is a multi-talented individual that corners every aspect of the word "artist" Prophet, a 38 yr. old Producer,Rapper/Mc, Dj, and Remixer is a one man Powerhouse almost literally! Owner of Powerhouse Productions and a constant driving force in duluth hiphop for the last 12 years. You could say he's been around the block, a few times! Josh Witt (Prophet) started exploring music in the late 90's and recorded his first "track" on a karaoke machine. Soon after he began collecting both recording and production equipment. It wasn't long till he was recording mixtapes over beats he produced and recorded. In 2000 Prophet made the move to Duluth and quickly gained notice by entering local mc battles and competitions as well as working with local artists. In 2002/2003 He started Powerhouse Productions and released the first "official'" release "The Compilation", The response was quite impressive with over 3000 cd's sold both locally and regionally. While continued local collaborations and many late night Prophet has worked with to many artists to list. In 2008 he joined forces with local Mc's Bus Stop, No Buddie and All City to form the hiphop group "Definitive Rhyme Syndicate" after recording the groups self titled release (DRS) the group decided to hit the road in hopes to land a record deal and tour the west coast. With that journey they played many shows and met with various label execs and managers, while nothing ever "panned out" with the details on contract agreements it didn't stop them from performing and recording. After the release the group has since split up and now only Prophet and Bus Stop still perform as DRS. Since 2009 Prophet along his partner in rhyme Bus Stop have performed at just about every venue in duluth and all over Minnesota and opening for National acts such as Young Buck,Paul Wall etc. In the last few years Prophet has perfected an attention grabbing performance on a solo or group platform with encouraged crowd participation and on point lyric delivery, his shows are always a good time. In the last 2 years Prophet has been taking his production skills more into focus, With the explosion of the "Dubstep" craze Prophet has taken that and incorporated it with hiphop and combining them making something for lovers of both genres. He also has been producing an original dubstep mixtape that will be soon available ready for release. At this time Prophet feels it is time to take the next step and focus on spreading his music with the world! With his ever growing fan base its probably about time, at this current time he is still looking for legit labels and distributors as well as manager/agency's to work with.
